Hello Nameberries and thank you in advance!
I’ve posted a few times before and you’ve all helped to narrow down quite a few names for us. We’re down to three now with one week left before due date. Of the three following names (with last name [name_u]Mason[/name_u]), which sounds the best?
*Quick sidenote: we’ve had some hesitation with [name_f]Isis[/name_f] b/c of how it sounds with [name_u]Mason[/name_u] (would be murder with a lisp), [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is my late mothers name, but doesn’t sound right in combo with the I-beginning names to me. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] we both adore, but only concern is that it’s on the trendy side right now. The name [name_f]Lark[/name_f] also has very strong ties to my mother…but, neither [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Lark[/name_f] are first names either of us want. Ok, thanks everyone! We are so excited to meet this little girl!
I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I don’t have aproblem with [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] flow but if you don’t like it [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is fine too.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Great names here.
I agree with you, [name_u]Finley[/name_u] is getting very popular and trendy, especially where I live. I would personally avoid [name_u]Finley[/name_u] for this reason, but it depends on how much it bothers you…
I like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. And [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is a fabulous middle name.
If you do decide to go with [name_u]Finley[/name_u], I like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] more than [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Mason[/name_u]. I just think it flows better as a whole. But if both middle names have special meaning to you, you can’t go wrong with either!
Overall, I like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Lark[/name_f].
I didn’t know [name_u]Finley[/name_u] was becoming popular, so maybe it’s not too popular yet…? Or maybe I’ve just been hiding under a rock. At any rate, I think that’s a great name!
The [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] combo blends into each other but it’s not a deal-breaker. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is the name that would directly honour your mother so I think it’s fine. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] sounds ok although it doesn’t look good written out on the page (both are four letters long and are two words). Only one name per combo is my ideal rule. [name_f]Isis[/name_f] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] is too lispy. 903 girls were named [name_u]Finley[/name_u] last year in the US but I still prefer the name on a boy. Since [name_u]Mason[/name_u] is now the No# 2 boys name in [name_u]America[/name_u], [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] sounds all-boy to me.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], definitely. I don’t like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] of [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. WDYT of [name_f]Isla[/name_f]? Similar, but much prettier.
Either [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] or [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] would be lovely. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] is too masculine and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] has 3 syllables ending in /s/, which, as you said, is too lispy.
dramagrl’s suggestion of [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is much better than [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] with [name_u]Mason[/name_u] and just because it is beautiful.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] sounds lovely, but is 3 word names so I hesitate.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
Larken [name_f]Isis[/name_f] (I think [name_u]Laken[/name_u] has gained a bit of popularity in recent years, so why not Larken?)
Thanks for all your help! I’ve been noticing that [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is actually more popular than [name_u]Finley[/name_u] lately and is higher up in rank on a few different sites. So I’m still kind of torn. [name_f]Isis[/name_f], though I love it, is just too hard to say with our last name. Such a difficult decision.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Isis[/name_f] is a bit of a tongue twister with your last name. I am not a fan of [name_u]Finley[/name_u] on girls.
I associate [name_u]Finley[/name_u] with boys and if I saw [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] on a class roster, I would definitely think he was a boy.
My favorite is [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. It was once my number one name, but then I also grew concerned of its popularity. I think since you are having the baby any day now, popularity shouldn’t be a problem. I think you will be ahead of the curve.
