1 week to go and just double checking!

[name]Hi[/name],
I am 38 + 2 with child no 1 at the moment eek! 12 days till the official due date and I was avid on here untill we picked out our little ones name, back in [name]August[/name].

I absolutly [name]Love[/name] it and it was my second preference that hubby and I agreed on so I am happy with that…but at this last minute I relise I have not thought of nicknames ( and I am already planning sibsets lol)

For a little boy we have [name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]George[/name] W

What nick names will he get , I assumed [name]Jed[/name], but after seeing the blog on unexpected nn’s im knida curious now what else he might get.

As hubby vitoed all of my other boy suggestions and I am already thinking sibsets or second boy name, what do you think of [name]Elliot[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]Lysander[/name] something (maybe [name]Daniel[/name]?) as a hypothetical future brother for little [name]Jedidiah[/name]?

Thank you name berries!

I love [name]Elliot[/name] [name]James[/name]! [name]Lysander[/name] feels very “A Midsummer [name]Night[/name]'s [name]Drea[/name]” but I’m ok with that. Maybe because it’s so similar to [name]Alexander[/name]. [name]Jed[/name] seems like the most likely nn for [name]Jedidiah[/name]. I suppose I could see [name]Eddie[/name] popping up too. Congrats!

[name]Jedidiah[/name] would probably get [name]Jed[/name] or even [name]Eddie[/name] for a nn. [name]Jed[/name] is a pretty cool nn. Is [name]George[/name] a family name? [name]Elliot[/name] would be ok with [name]Jedidiah[/name] but [name]Lysander[/name] would be even better. [name]Jedidiah[/name] is a more uncommon Biblical name so I think siblings should have something as unique with a touch of the exotic. Here are some suggestions from the Bible, mythology and other styles.

Brothers for [name]Jedidiah[/name]: [name]Gideon[/name], [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Solomon[/name], [name]Abraham[/name]/[name]Abram[/name], [name]Ishmael[/name], [name]Balthasar[/name], [name]Thaddeus[/name], [name]Matthias[/name], [name]Zebedee[/name], [name]Emmanuel[/name]
[name]Lazarus[/name], [name]Maximilian[/name], [name]Ulysses[/name], [name]Constantine[/name], [name]Casimir[/name], [name]Auberon[/name], [name]Cornelius[/name], [name]Barnaby[/name], [name]Theodore[/name]

Sisters for [name]Jedidiah[/name]: [name]Jerusha[/name], [name]Keturah[/name], [name]Elisha[/name], [name]Sapphira[/name], [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Damaris[/name], [name]Hadassah[/name], [name]Xanthe[/name], [name]Salome[/name], [name]Delilah[/name], [name]Guinevere[/name], [name]Calliope[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Theodora[/name], [name]Katharina[/name], [name]Roxana[/name], [name]Linnea[/name], [name]Araminta[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name], [name]Artemis[/name]

Haha, I think the thing about unpredictable nicknames is you can’t predict them! So while [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Eddie[/name] are most likely (and I think you could steer most people toward using one), I don’t know if we could even guess what it would be ([name]Dice[/name]? [name]Ace[/name]? [name]Blue[/name]? [name]Bear[/name]? Hamburglar?) and what those original off the wall nicknames would turn into. It’ll be exciting to see what happens

I like [name]Jedidiah[/name] with [name]Elliot[/name]. [name]Lysander[/name] seems too overtly Greek and Shakespearean beside Biblical [name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]IMO[/name], but I think you have a lot of flexibility with [name]Jed[/name]. Congrats!

I like [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Eddie[/name]… but he’d almost certainly turn into [name]Jedi[/name] around this house. And hey, they’re doing more [name]Star[/name] Wars movies, so by the time he hits kinder he’ll have the coolest name around  I knew a family that had five boys, all J names. Two of them were [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Jeremiah[/name], and often went by Siah and [name]Miah[/name] (around family and close friends). I’m not sure if this started before or after their youngest brother was born, who certainly couldn’t pronounce either full name. Anyway… what was my point here?

I like [name]Elliot[/name] [name]James[/name].

Oh thank you for your replies.

I have alwasy loved the Name [name]Elliot[/name] [name]James[/name], but hubby vitoed it after going to high school with a satinist with the same name :frowning: Damn name associations. Yes [name]George[/name] is a family name.

I had thought of [name]Jed[/name], but [name]Eddie[/name] was a surprise I had not counted on. My nephew [name]James[/name]'s nick name is [name]Eddie[/name] due to his last name. So I will be steering away from encouraging that one. [name]Jedi[/name] is also awesome, thank you for pointing that one out.

For a Girl we have our hearts set on [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name] as a sister for [name]Jed[/name]. I just feel like I need a second boys name (or back up name) incase he is not a [name]Jed[/name] at the hospital.
