My top 6 for you, in no particularly order:
[name]Griffin[/name] - I think this is very cute, becoming a lot more well-known and a little more widely used now… Since your husband likes more classical names, perhaps suggest [name]Finn[/name] as a nickname as see if that makes him warm up to it.
[name]Morgan[/name] - I adore this name, it’s so handsome! I don’t know how accepted it would be for a boy in the US, but I don’t think that should put you off regardless. It’s a lovely, classic, strong boys name and a great choice.
Emeric - I like that this is unusual, but would still be familiar to all those who meet him, because of names like [name]Emory[/name] and [name]Emerson[/name]. Again, for your husband, there’s the possibility of the more classic [name]Eric[/name] as a nickname.
[name]Peregrine[/name] - This was a shock popularity jumper, and I can see why. I have it on my own list, it’s so unexpected and lovely. And the bird association gives it strength and grounding. Your husband might like the nicknames [name]Perry[/name], [name]Reggie[/name] … that way you’d both be getting what you want.
[name]August[/name] - I have this one on my list too (as [name]Gideon[/name] [name]Cedar[/name] [name]August[/name]); like [name]Griffin[/name], people are definitely starting to warm up to it. There is [name]Gus[/name] as a nickname, but I wouldn’t see that as very classic American so I don’t know what your husband would think.
[name]Wesley[/name] - I know a [name]Wesley[/name] who is American, but born and lives in the UK. It’s a nice classic, very cute and I’d say pretty American sounding - you very rarely get a [name]Wesley[/name] in the UK. It’s also simple and sweet.
