100% Honest Opinions

I want your honest opinions on these names. Some are new crushes, some I’ve liked for a while.

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. Really hate [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. Too frilly for my tastes.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f]. Also like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], but I do like how classic [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is. Not interested in [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] because of the negative HP connection. I don’t mind HP connections, but [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] was such an awful character.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - A long time love. Contemplating [name_f]Theresa[/name_f].
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - A name I’ve loved for a few months.
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - [name_u]Read[/name_u] it in a book, and I can’t get it out of my head. A nn for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]? [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]'s my Mom’s name, but IDK if I love it enough to use it. Any more ideas for a full name for [name_u]Kit[/name_u]? (Not [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] (or spelling variations of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] & [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f])).
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - I first loved [name_u]August[/name_u] (for a boy), but [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] is really growing on me.
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f]. Not sure if [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is a full enough name. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like [name_u]Piper[/name_u].
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - Thought about [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], etc. I can never find one that I truly love as much as just [name_f]Evie[/name_f].

Other suggestions are welcome, as always. I know these names are sort of all over the place.

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - this is just ok to me, too frilly for my taste (to me [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] are the same when spoken so I don’t get the hate one but not the other thing personally) I prefer just [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is a cute nn
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - very sweet name but has a lot of backbone too, I like it. This is my prefered spelling, and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is a sweet nickname
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] as a nn is nice too, I think I prefer the spunky [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] on her own
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - this name has really grown on me, its very strong. Its still underused enough to stand out!
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - a great nn, I like it as a nn for [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f].
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - I do like this, but I can’t picture it on an actual person… Sounds a bit pretentious
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] - I don’t cae for the name [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], even as a nn. I just don’t see the appeal
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - like it although it does sound quite nn/childish. I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f] with [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as the nn

[name_u]Love[/name_u]:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f]

Like:
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f]

Dislike:
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]

Total honesty - none of these names is terrible but here’s what I’m really thinking:

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - the bel is clunky and extra. I tend to find B clunky. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a nice name.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - I like the sound. I think of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]'s big sister. I see “beat rice”.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - I love the x. I think of the [name_f]Bride[/name_f] in Kill [name_m]Bill[/name_m]. I think of Mrs. [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. I love those contradictions. I think of dominatrixes. I think about [name_f]Trix[/name_f] and tricks and [name_f]Trix[/name_f] are for kids. I still love it but not enough to use it.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - I see asset backwards. [name_f]Tess[/name_f] of the D’Ubervilles. Tessalations. Contessa. I like it but feel something’s missing. I like it better as a nickname for [name_f]Theresa[/name_f]. [name_f]Theresa[/name_f]'s more unexpected on a baby. Mother [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] is a good association.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - like the meaning clear, a clean relatively blank slate, a blue color, a lovely name.
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - a cute nickname. It was historically used for men named [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_m]Christian[/name_m], so you could do any name like that (like [name_f]Kirsten[/name_f] as suggested above), [name_f]Christine[/name_f], [name_f]Christina[/name_f], [name_f]Christiana[/name_f], [name_f]Christa[/name_f]. [name_f]Christine[/name_f] might be my favorite. It would also work for [name_f]Keturah[/name_f] and wouldn’t be insane for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] by way of Bit – [name_u]Kit[/name_u]. I like the idea of you using [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] though. Perhaps as a middle and then [name_u]Kit[/name_u] can be another nickname in addition to whatever name/nickname from the first? [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] would totally be a [name_u]Kit[/name_u] for example.
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - I find all those u’s and g’s to be “ug”.
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is cute and fun but without a fuller name is way too [name_f]Pippi[/name_f] Longstocking and Pipsqueak.
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - I like it enough, I generally don’t like nns as names but this one is sweet. I want to suggest [name_f]Eve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f] though.

Thanks for all the great replies! I’m glad everyone likes [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] a lot - I think it might be my #1 name (for now aha). Also love the idea of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] “[name_u]Kit[/name_u]”. What do the rest of you think?

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - I like this, but I actually prefer [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], as this looks a bit incomplete to me. I would just as quickly use [name_f]Annie[/name_f] on it’s own though, or just [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is one I prefer the sound of when it’s said all together, so I’d rather [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] then [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] (if that makes sense?)

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - one of my favourites! I love the name [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is very sweet. I also like the idea of [name_f]Bess[/name_f] as a nickname, which I got from British [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names [Name of the Week - British Baby Names]. I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], and definitely prefer it to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] or [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] - which I completely agree with you on.

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - I do like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and I prefer it to [name_f]Teresa[/name_f], but I’ve always felt as if there’s something missing from it. I used to know a girl named Contessa, which was kinda cool, but I wasn’t a huge fan of that either. I prefer just [name_f]Tess[/name_f], but then I overthink about how [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is more boring than [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. It’s a vicious circle for me, haha!

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I really love the name [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It’s so classic and beautiful, but I’m always torn between [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and the frilly, vintage [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] (which I’m guessing wouldn’t be in your style range?). [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is really beautifully vintage, and it fits so well with [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].

[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - I can’t think of any other female names this could be short for, except maybe a name with [name_u]Chris[/name_u] in it, because, in the UK, [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is an old fashioned nickname for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. I think I prefer it for a boy (one of my favourite bands from [name_f]England[/name_f] has a member named [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u]), but it works either way.

[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - this is one of my GPs, I adore it, but I don’t think it fits as nicely with my list  I love it though. I think [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] would be lovely as siblings.

[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] this! [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is so fun and playful, it’s lovely, and definitely works on it’s own, but I’d pair it in with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] but maybe not [name_f]Augusta[/name_f].

[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - I really love [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]!), maybe you’d like [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f]? Either way, [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is still lovely regardless, and I have seen sibling sets from [name_f]England[/name_f] with [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], so I think it works!

[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]

[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - not a fan at all. Makes me think of a hyper girly antebellum farm girl.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - I like the nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f] as well (a lot) but my favorite way to get there is [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] (Yes I know you’d have to change the letters for a nn to work, Bi obviously wont do).
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] better
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I like it but I have meh associations with the name [name_f]Claire[/name_f] so its never going to be my favorite.
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - I know a boy named [name_u]Kit[/name_u] but I like it a lot as a girls name. It reminds me of [name_u]Scout[/name_u] from To Kill a Mockingbird, which I like a lot, but without the clear singular influence. I also think it works as a nn for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (like [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] in Pride and Prejudice)
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - not my favorite.
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] as its own thing, and I agree that [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] is nowhere near as nice. [name_u]Piper[/name_u]'s ok, but I don’t think its necessary.
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - Too girlish I think on its own. I would go with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and just call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f].

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - I like it, I’m not sure if I prefer [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], though. That depends on the middle name and possible siblings.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - is a bit too buttoned-up for me.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - a very sweet name
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - love it as Clah-ra, dislike it as [name_u]Clair[/name_u]-a
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - sweet. [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t name her sister [name_f]Kat[/name_f].
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - I don’t like the gus sound, which is why I don’t like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] either, [name_u]August[/name_u] doesn’t have that sound so I much prefer that one
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] - I have [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] on my list. While it might not be intuitive, I really like it. I do think it can stand on it’s own but I somehow love it way more as a nn.
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - it’s a bit too sweet for me, with the Ee beginning and the ee ending.

Annabe l- I like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], not my taste but it is okay. I really dislike [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. Names like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] gives others the opertunity to make their own nn for your kid. I got a friend with the name [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and she has tons of nn. She want too stick with [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] but when you need her fast it is more easy to call her [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_u]Bell[/name_u], Belly.

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - You got an 100 year name rule, the 100 years are not over yet! lol And going with the [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] spelling reminds me of many vilain’s in child books and movies.

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - is in the Netherlands a top 50 girls name. It is okay…
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - It’s okay, nothing really special.

[name_u]Kit[/name_u] - Nice nn for katherine, U could also use it on: [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], Kitara, [name_f]Katniss[/name_f], Kitra… probaly many more. [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is also a stand a lone hebrew name with the meaning: crown; pure; torture … language of origin is Old Greek and Hebrew … predominantly used in English. It will spice up an old dusty Anamel in an combo, [name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]? [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]?

[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know where to start with this one. But i’m thanking my mom for not calling me that. What kind of nn do you have for that one?
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] - You could use it for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]…
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - I realy love that name! And would use it on Evengaline.
