We have only one girl’s name that we can agree on: [name]Eleni[/name] (middle name in progress). However, everyone I know that has recently had a baby has ended up thinking the name they picked didn’t work and had to come up with something new. Could be the hormones, but the idea of not having a name for our baby for the first week is really stressing me out. I need a backup name (or two)!
Criteria: It can’t start with A and must be longer than one syllable.
A few we’ve contemplated to give you a style idea: [name]Juniper[/name]/[name]Wren[/name] (nature), [name]Eleni[/name]/[name]Athena[/name] (Greek), [name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Theodora[/name] (Traditional), [name]Tenley[/name]/[name]Noa[/name] (modern)
We’ve looked at so many names now, they’re all looking the same. I welcome your most outrageous and creative suggestions!
Oh, [name]Eleni[/name] is very sweet. I know an [name]Eleni[/name] whose family calls her Elenimou (my little [name]Eleni[/name]).

[name]Irene[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] (like [name]Ahna[/name] or [name]Anna[/name]; the first syllable rhymes with on, not man)

I’m relieved to hear that your name worked out! Maybe we’ll get lucky as well. We rejected the other names I listed for a few reasons. 1) My step-daughter has a speech impediment so “r” names like [name]Wren[/name] are hard for her to pronounce, 2) My hopeful future boy’s name is [name]Theo[/name] so [name]Theodora[/name] felt like too much, 3) My sister has dibs on [name]Noa[/name]/h/, 4) I am concerned that my orthodox family might be offended by [name]Athena[/name] as a first name, or 5) we just could agree 100% ([name]Tenley[/name], [name]Juniper[/name]).
There have been some great suggestions so far! I like [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Leora[/name] (not sure about the “r” but really lovely), & [name]Zara[/name] ([name]Zair[/name]-ah or Zahr-ah?) Please keep the suggestions coming!! Thanks a million!!

[name]How[/name] about [name]Leona[/name] if you’re worried about the r? Or [name]Eleora[/name], and your step daughter could just call her [name]Ellie[/name]?
