11ish weeks to go and still no decision!

Hey!

So I am almost 29 weeks now and I feel like we are at a stand still for names… we have a top 3 but can’t actually decide which we like best… and I feel like a top 3 isnt good enough! I want a top 5 at least!

our top 3 are…

[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]

I prefer names that DONT end in A although its not a MUST and it CANNOT start with J or that sound as our son is J0sef and I dont want alliteration!

Help me find a few more to love and give me some feedback on our top 3 PLEASE!!!

Tbh- the three names are just incredible!!

[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is my most favorite from your list and together with [name_m]Josef[/name_m] it has a vintage sound

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is my next favorite has a unique sound and isn’t all that overused, and [name_m]Josef[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] again sound like books could be written about them “[name_m]Josef[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]'s Aquarium Adventure”

[name_f]Colette[/name_f] our last name is [name_f]Collett[/name_f] and I put it lowest on my list for you BC I know I’m partial to this name seeing how it is soooo beautiful … And underused as well and again [name_m]Josef[/name_m] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f] sound good together…

What a lovely and lucky list you have ( that you both agree on ”lol) and should be very fun to see what name you do pick !!

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]

Oh my, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f]! I adore [name_m]French[/name_m] names and these are two of my very favorites.

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is sweet yet still chic. [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is also chic and sophisticated. Both will age nicely.

I’m not loving [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], and I’m usually a fan of “old lady names.” I adore [name_f]Stella[/name_f], but it doesn’t seem to be what you’re looking for.

I think [name_f]Colette[/name_f] would be a great choice. While I love [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], it is rather close to some popular, nickname-as-first names… i.e. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f]…

[name_f]Colette[/name_f] stands out. It’s still feminine and pretty but keeps that level of sophistication that she will appreciate when she’s an adult. Plus, you could always use [name_f]Coco[/name_f] or [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] as a nickname if you want something sweet as a kid. Although totally unnecessary because [name_f]Colette[/name_f] on its own is gorgeous.

My favorite is definitely [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], love that name.

It’s a different approach to be wanting a bigger list leading up to baby’s arrival as opposed to narrowing it down! I would find the decision in hospital harder if I had more to choose from. But you gotta do what works for you!

So, on a list with [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f], and a brother named [name_m]Josef[/name_m], perhaps…

[name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] (ah[name_f]RAYlee[/name_f])
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
Avelyn
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Hildie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Liesl[/name_f]
[name_f]Marlena[/name_f]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Milla[/name_f]
[name_f]Otilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Trudie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Serafine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Collette[/name_f] the best on you list

I’ll suggest
[name_f]Annette[/name_f]
[name_f]Jolie[/name_f]

Thands for the feedback! we are definitely lucky that we agree on a few! For some reason though I always think I’ll find another that I love and just havent discovered it yet!lol

To be honest, your list is, to me, just absolute perfection. I think any one of your three choices would be great, but I’m partial to [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]. You seem to like names that are feminine but not frilly, two syllables, classic but chic. A few others that fit that criteria:

[name_f]Camille[/name_f] - Has a similar sound to [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f].
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - maybe a little long, but it seems to fit with [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f].
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] - This one’s been getting a lot of Nameberry and it’s easy to see why. I never hear of anyone using it though, which is disappointing.
[name_f]Fabienne[/name_f] - a little longer than your choices, but similarly timeless and stylish.
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f] - I don’t think it matches your choices as a first in terms of style, but I love it as a middle option.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - maybe too elaborate for your tastes, but I had to include it.
[name_f]Ines[/name_f] - I love this name, and it was one of the first ones that came to mind when I saw your list. Definitely beautiful without being fussy. Sounds great with J0sef too.
[name_f]Sabine[/name_f] - [name_m]French[/name_m], classic, elegant.
[name_u]Simone[/name_u] - This was the first one I thought of. I feel like I recommend it to everyone but it feels like a natural addition to your list.
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f] - Has a lot of the qualities you seem to like and feels like a great alternative to [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] if [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] just isn’t quite right.
