16 and Pregnant

So there is this show on MTV called 16 and pregnant which follows the stories of several teen moms through their pregnancies. I was wondering what you thought of the name choices these young girls made:

[name]Jace[/name] Vahn
[name]Lyle[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Nevaeh[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Aubree[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Aiden[/name] (adopted)
[name]Jordynn[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Brooklyn[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
Aliannah [name]Hope[/name] and [name]Aleeah[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (twins poor girl)
[name]Summer[/name] [name]Jayde[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]

Would love to hear your thoughts!

My first thought was that most of them sound like something a 16-year-old would pick. But upon further thought, [name]Lyle[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] are lovely names.
And there should be a [name]LAW[/name] against naming some poor, unsuspecting infant [name]Nevaeh[/name]. I don’t care if you’re 16 or 60, that’s just cruel.

[name]Issac[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Lyle[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] are the only ones that don’t make me cringe.

I don’t understand the whole “spelling names different” thing. I could never do that to my child… they have to grow up with these names…

I agree. [name]Lyle[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] are the only nice ones on the list.

Most of the names are not my style, but they’re also not my kids, so its fine. :0) I don’t think any of them are so terrible that the kids will have problems later in life over them.

[name]Jace[/name] Vahn- I actually quite like this name…I prefer [name]Jayce[/name] and [name]Vaughn[/name] or [name]Jace[/name] [name]Vaughn[/name] but my friend had a baby recently called [name]Jace[/name] (not short for [name]Jason[/name]) and I’ve grown to like it. [name]Vaughn[/name] like [name]Vaughn[/name] [name]Williams[/name] is okay I guess.

[name]Lyle[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]- [name]Lyle[/name] reminds me of a kid in my class at school…he was the one that everyone thought was weird. I guess it’s an okay name but it wouldn’t be my favourite. I like [name]Thomas[/name] though.

[name]Nevaeh[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]- poor poor child. [name]How[/name] do you even pronounce that first name? I just read it as [name]Heaven[/name] backwards.

[name]Aubree[/name] [name]Skye[/name]- what’s wrong with [name]Aubrey[/name]? no need for the other eeee. I like [name]Skye[/name]

[name]Aiden[/name] (adopted)- [name]Aiden[/name], [name]Braiden[/name], [name]Caden[/name], Daden, [name]Edan[/name], Faden, Gaden…you get the point.

[name]Jordynn[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Marie[/name]-I quite like [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. [name]Jordynn[/name]? No.

[name]Brooklyn[/name] [name]Marie[/name]- no

Aliannah [name]Hope[/name] and [name]Aleeah[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (twins poor girl)- Double No ([name]Aleeah[/name]? Aliannah? Did this girl just make up a name and decide to reinforce it by adding [name]ANNAH[/name] to the second twin? Sorry, doesn’t float my boat at all)

[name]Summer[/name] [name]Jayde[/name]-[name]Summer[/name] is pretty as a name. I prefer the [name]Jade[/name] spelling though.

[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]-[name]Love[/name] [name]Elliot[/name], don’t like [name]Isaac[/name].

In all I’d agree most of these spellings would be a 16 year old’s child…then again, as long as they are loved and their names are easy to pronounce (sorry [name]Neveah[/name]) who cares? it’s their kid…still…at least there’s deed poll if the child grows to hate their name.
