So, I need some advice. Our first daughter’s name is [name]Cate[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]. I really like the name [name]Jane[/name] ([name]Josephine[/name] as middle) but think it’s way too matchy. My favorite other girl name is [name]Lily[/name] ([name]Jane[/name] as middle) but with the news that [name]Lily[/name] is up to #18 on the SSA list…I am just having lots of doubts.
I think it depends on if you plan to have a lot of children. If you’re stopping at two I think [name]Cate[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] are adorable. But if you plan on having more and there aren’t other names you love that go with that ([name]Lily[/name] [name]Luciana[/name]) then I wouldn’t do it. [name]Lily[/name] and all her sisters are on the rise, yes, but if you love the name, that’s what matters most!
I think that [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] would be perfect for her sister, but that doesn’t really involve the names you picked out. [name]Josie[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] would be cute, too! [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Cate[/name]? [name]Josie[/name] and [name]Cate[/name]? [name]Alice[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] would be nice, too!
Can I just ask what you think is too matchy about [name]Cate[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]? Is it the alliteration? Or is it the fact that each first name is one syllable ending in -e? Either way, I wouldn’t worry about it. It isn’t like [name]Cate[/name] and [name]Nate[/name] or [name]Jane[/name] and [name]John[/name] - I love the alliteration, too!
If you are worried about finding more names that work with [name]Cate[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] for possible future daughters, you could always try names like:
Now, if you want to stick with four letter names, like [name]Cate[/name] and [name]Jane[/name], I think the best matches for future sisters are [name]Anne[/name], [name]Elle[/name], [name]Faye[/name], and [name]Rose[/name]. And, you certainly wouldn’t have to do the same if you ever had a boy!
