#2 is a girl!

DH and I found out this weekend we are having another girl - which is absolutely wonderful - but girls’ names are so hard for us. With our first daughter ([name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]) we went to the hospital with a list of 2 possible first names. This time we’ve agreed on a few possibilities but none of them seem like “the name”. [name_f]Paige[/name_f] seems to have mainly fallen into the middle name category but it still seems so ‘not right’. Our last name makes C, K, and Q names hard to pair with it. What can you suggest Berries?

So far on our list is:
Definite Possibilities:
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]

Either DH (mostly) or I am not sure about:
[name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u]
[name_u]Seeley[/name_u] (this would be an homage to my maiden name)
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Taryn[/name_f]
[name_f]Cambrie[/name_f]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Shannon[/name_u]
[name_f]Bayleigh[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]

Middle Name Possibilities only:
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Karlee[/name_f] (DH dad middle name was [name_m]Karl[/name_m])
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

If you’re going for matchy, I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] are beautiful.

If you just want complimentary, I’d go with [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] (more subtle link of mns.) [name_m]Both[/name_m] girl names seem very ‘now’ and girly.

If you don’t care about matching at all, I like [name_u]Shannon[/name_u] [name_f]Karlee[/name_f]. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] still fits with [name_u]Shannon[/name_u], it brings out the Irish roots and makes the set more classic.

It depends what you like and if you want to go down the same letter route. If so, I really like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f].

However, if you’re trying to stay clear of that route, then I suggest [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f].

I do also really love the spelling [name_f]Bayleigh[/name_f] for the name [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] (I’m not sold on the [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] spelling) but I would stay clear of it. Maybe it’s just me wanting to be on the safe side but [name_f]Bayleigh[/name_f] looks awfully ‘teen mom’ compared to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and the ‘correct’ (if I can even call it that without coming off ignorant), more traditional spellings of said names. [name_u]Baylee[/name_u] is a nice alternative to [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] without the name looking tacky and, if you like [name_u]Baylee[/name_u], I suggest [name_u]Baylee[/name_u] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] or [name_u]Baylee[/name_u] [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] (I’d make sure the middle name was 100% feminine).

I fully second schickler:

[name_u]Shannon[/name_u] [name_f]Karlee[/name_f] & [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] are my favorites on your list, and go very well with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], while still open-ended enough that each are unique and individual (and it would be easy to add another to the sibset, should you have more kids!)

Good luck!

You’ve got some beautiful choices on your list!

I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], and [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].

[name_f]My[/name_f] suggestions for you are:
[name_f]Audra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]

Best of luck!

I really like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] ([name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] would be pretty, too.) with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I also second the suggestion of [name_u]Meredith[/name_u].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about the name [name_f]Celia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] as variation of the name [name_u]Seeley[/name_u]?

Thank you all for your input! It’s good food for thought. I honestly think that it’s [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] vying for the first name position. I’m hesitant on doing an A name because, while we’re pretty sure this is our last child, we’re not completely sure. I don’t know how I’d feel if I had a third child after naming two with A names. Would we feel like we had started a trend therefore forcing us to have an A name for the 3rd?

The middle name spot is more challenging. With DD we tried to use a name that had meaning to us ([name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is relative to the time of year that both her and I were born) and we’d like to do something similar (a mn with meaning that is) with this baby as well. I like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] but DH isn’t sold on it (says it isn’t a real name). I’m probably seriously over thinking this whole situation.

[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] was on our list but my cousin and his wife just had a beautiful baby girl and chose that name for her. No hard feelings though as we hadn’t ever discussed names. LOL.

I was afraid [name_u]Baylee[/name_u] ([name_f]Bayleigh[/name_f]…etc) would be too trendy to stand next to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is beautiful (never thought about pairing it with [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]) but my BF is pregnant as well and if they have a girl they’d like to name her [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (this was discussed way before either of us were pregnant) and I’m wondering if there’s too matchy - even for BFs.

[name_f]Audra[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] are out because DH and I both know someone with those names.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] DH say is a grandmother’s name.
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] is so pretty and I want to like it but there’s something about it that just makes me cringe.
[name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] are pretty but they just don’t set off any bells.

I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] make a great set!

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] are perfect together! [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is my second choice.

I really like [name_f]Paige[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Paige[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] would make a great combo.

Too bad you don’t like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] called [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is so perfect as a sister to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] called [name_f]Mia[/name_f]!!

Lots of your choices seem more unisex which I find difficult next to the girly [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite on your list is [name_u]Teagan[/name_u].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and…
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Karlee[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Seeley[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_u]Seeley[/name_u]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]

Suggesting-

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Seeley[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Seeley[/name_u] / [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Karla[/name_f] [name_u]Seeley[/name_u]
[name_f]Shani[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]

So far on our list is:

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]

I like your [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] “[name_f]Mia[/name_f]”!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Audon[/name_m] [name_f]Kalee[/name_f]
[name_m]Audon[/name_m] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_m]Audon[/name_m] [name_u]Seeley[/name_u]
[name_m]Audon[/name_m] Nickell
[name_m]Audon[/name_m] [name_u]Nichole[/name_u] ( close to [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], but not on top of it. Can call her [name_f]Audi[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]!
[name_u]Amery[/name_u] [name_u]Nichole[/name_u] = [name_f]Meri[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] which I think is adorable!

I like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
