2 Questions: Anagail? Clara-Rose?

My daughter got a new doll for [name]Christmas[/name] that my husband names [name]Abigail[/name]. Beautiful name! However, my daughter won’t say it. She keeps calling her Anagail/Annagail (however you might spell it). Seems like a name that someone might actually use, so I was wondering what your thoughts were on her smoosh. I’m torn as to whether I’d like to hear it on a real baby or not.

Second question: If I love [name]Clara[/name] and I love [name]Rose[/name] and I don’t want to give up either, can [name]Clara[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] ever work? Obviously, the ra-[name]Ro[/name] blends more than I’d like, but I just keep coming back to the idea. I have a feeling that the overall consensus will be no, but I thought it was worth asking about anyway.

I always have a tendency to pause between names so to me [name]Clara[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] isn’t too bad. It does run into each other a little.

I live [name]Clara[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. To me for a double barreled first name I actually like it when it blends a little bit. I don’t think Anagail is really usable, imo. that “Anag” noise is was too harsh.

I like [name]Clara[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], I think that it could work.

I also think Anagail (definitely this spelling) looks close enough to anal that I don’t like it. I love [name]Abigail[/name] and I love [name]Anna[/name], so in theory I can see the appeal of this name, but maybe it’s better to leave it to the dolls :). [name]Glad[/name] to see that [name]Clara[/name]-[name]Rose[/name]/[name]Clara[/name] [name]Rose[/name] could be a possibility!

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is lovely, although I think it might be too close in sound to your daughters name. It could be a beautiful double barreled middle though.

[name]Clara[/name]-[name]Rose[/name]/[name]Clara[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is gorgeous. Hyphenated names have always been a guilty pleasure of sorts to me (they never seem to go down very well here) so it’s always lovely to see them considered. The ra-[name]Ro[/name] does blend together a bit and causes a pause between the two names, but I don’t think that would really matter or even really be noticed that often [name]IRL[/name].

As for Anagail - like you, I can see the appeal, but I also kind of see the words nag and anal  That said, I think [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Gail[/name] is very pretty and could definitely be usable.

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is fine. [name]Ra[/name]-[name]Ro[/name] endings/beginnings sound smooth when I say them

stephaniebrooke - definitely see your point that [name]Clara[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] is similar to [name]Arabella[/name]. The beginnings are pretty rhyme-y.

I love that [name]Clara[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is actually being pretty well received! These are actually two names that DH doesn’t veto. I’m definitely keeping them both on my list, separate and together. Thanks everyone!
