I choose [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] cause i like the nickname options it provides a lot. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is sweet but seems overused to me with all the [name_f]Lila[/name_f]/[name_f]Lola[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] out there.
Both are lovely but I love the elegance of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]!
I adore [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (it’s my cat’s name!) but I think now that it’s so popular along with other similar names, I find [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] refreshing by comparison.
I love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. It is upbeat, classic, and elegant.
I am just not a fan of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], which I find extremely dated (here in Australia, it would be a big surprise to find a [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] under the age of 30 or even 40, at least where I am…) That said, depending where you are, that may not be the case at all, so might be the better option. Personally, I would prefer [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], which givers the name a little more interest for me.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f], on the other hand, is so incredibly common here (almost everywhere too, really), being that it seems every other child has the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [I worked in child-care for many years, and we had to call [name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s (and all of the same sounding variant spellings) by their full first and surname as there were multiples in the class (in one Preschool age class of 20, there were four!)]. So, I guess it depends if that is something that would bother her, and/or you.
So ultimately, I guess it depends where you are, and how concerned you are with popularity?
