I like all 3 but voted for [name_f]Margery[/name_f]. It has a similar strength that the other names have, imo.

I’m fast coming round to [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], and I love it in this set.

Sorry to see [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] go, though!

Was [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] ever an option?

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f], definitely. I think it fits in perfectly with the other names.

I’m still in favour of [name_f]Margery[/name_f], although [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] would of course work nicely as well. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is just so bright and fiery that she would seem out of place next to the others’ subtler beauty, somehow.

Out of these three, definitely [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]! It’s so magical and yet grounded, smart and sturdy. Have you read The Master and [name_f]Margarita[/name_f]? I very much associate all [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] names with [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] from this book.

@pacifica - I agree, she has a very rich yet unostentatious feel! I’m finding it really difficult to rule any of these three out.

@katinka and @summs - I ruled out [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] because I didn’t like her enough as a first name to take her out of my [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] combo, which I really do love. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I think she’s beautiful and would work admirably for a [name_f]Meg[/name_f] nickname.

@autumnreverie - No, she wasn’t. I did think of her, but I can’t get into her as a FN. Somehow I can’t see her as a name apart from the nature connection, which is a little unusual for me. Plus I have Elestren [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] on my list and I really like that combo.

@sunniva - I just wonder whether [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] kinda clashes with [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] a little bit, with the two strong -d endings?

@kew - I know what you mean with [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] being bright and fiery! I’m not that keen on the flowers themselves either, at least not at the moment, so that doesn’t really help. But I’m finding it hard to commit to any, and I do like the idea of [name_f]Marigold[/name_f].

@moonstone - No, I haven’t! But I may have to look it up if you recommend it. I really love the idea of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] - [name_m]French[/name_m], connection to The [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] Pimpernel, means daisy, feels elegant and mysterious and beautiful . . . but somehow I can’t get fully on board with the name, I think mainly because the -rite bit doesn’t quite work for me yet.

I’d ideally like to find a Marg- name that shares the deep purple-blue-flower beauty that I see in [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but none of them are quite there yet. Maybe I’ll have a play around with some combos and see what I think.

I am swooning over [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. Perfection :slight_smile:
