2018 Top 100 Least Faves

Everyone has a favorite name, and also some they’ve probably never liked! What are your top three from the 2018 most popular baby names that you just plain don’t like/or know why they’re so popular?
FYI- this is not to hurt anyone’s feelings at all. Everyone has different tastes, and you don’t have to necessarily hate these names to simply know you’ll never love them.

Me personally:
Boys: [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m], [name_m]Muhammad[/name_m]
Girls: [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]

From the NB list;

[name_f]Rumi[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Allegro[/name_f]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]

I’m just super picky with boys names!! I don’t hate these, but I don’t see the appeal of them at all.

There’s a few I’m not crazy about, but I’d say [name_m]Aryan[/name_m] definitely makes me raise my eyebrows.

I mean, do you really want your child to share a name with a hate group?

Girls:[name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_u]Paisley[/name_u], [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f]
Boys: [name_m]Jaxson[/name_m] (just the spelling, I like the name itself), [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m], [name_u]Bentley[/name_u], [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]

Finally I can be upset without getting judged.
Thanks for making this.

Muhammad. Just because everyone sees it as a negative name.

Hugh. Hugo is cute, but I can’t get past how Hugh looks like Huh and Huge but has no sound after the u.

Gretrude. Gertrue is cute.

Rosalie. Overly girly and trying to hard. I love Rose and Rosamund though. Same for a few others like Evaleigh, Emilia, etcz

Jackson. I like the name Jack by itself. Jackson sounds like Jacks off and it bothers me.

Wesley. Ron Wesley. Eh. Westley is an adorable option.

I personally also hate when people put x’s or extra letters in names when it’s absolutely not needed.

From the NB popularity list:

Girls: [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u], [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]

Boys: [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxson[/name_m], [name_u]Braydon[/name_u], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]

Girls ; [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] ! He was a misogynist, homophobic, racist bastard ! He wasn’t even Muslim, he compared his writings to Qur’an and copied Qur’an too. He accepted bribery from Mongolian chiefs and when his son died fighting against Mongolian invasion he disowned him and didn’t attended his funeral. He also didn’t do anything when his adopted daughter was beaten to death.

Boys ; [name_m]Aryan[/name_m], I think no explanation is needed here.

[name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Allegro[/name_f]

[name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m], [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_m]Aryan[/name_m], [name_m]Ryker[/name_m]

I’m very curious, why so much hate for [name_m]Muhammad[/name_m]?

From the NB list:
[name_f]Rumi[/name_f], [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f], [name_f]Allegro[/name_f], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_m]Kian[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_m]Ryker[/name_m], [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]
From the US list:
[name_u]Paisley[/name_u], [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f], [name_u]Reagan[/name_u], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_u]Jayden[/name_u]

Thankfully I don’t think [name_m]Aryan[/name_m] is on the actual popularity list, just most searched on Nameberry.

My pet peeves are…

[name_u]Paisley[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
[name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]

Boys:

[name_u]James[/name_u] - No, just…no. shudders

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] - I don’t know what’s up with this name, but it pushes all my buttons.

[name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] - Gross. [name_m]Just[/name_m]. No.

Girls:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - Cute, but bleh.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] - The name has my reaction in it: EHHHHH-MUHH

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] - Need I say more?

[name_u]Paisley[/name_u] - Paste [name_u]Lee[/name_u]?

[name_f]Rumi[/name_f] - Like ruminate?

I love [name_m]Archie[/name_m] but I can’t see the appeal of [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. It just feels violent to me.

I’m so over [name_u]James[/name_u]. I think 2 in 3 people on NB have it in their signature.

That’s probably it for names that are considered popular.

[name_m]Jaxson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] (just the spelling)
[name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_m]Gunner[/name_m] (sound violent)
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Jayden[/name_u]/[name_u]Jaden[/name_u]

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

Is the name [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] as is currently used from this guy though? If so why for girls especially? It seems it has at least one other origin.

What list are we going on? Both U.S. stats and a Nameberry list? Can I have a link?

I am talking about NB list and not U.S list and I think [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] had impact due to [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] choosing the name for her daughter after the poet, I know it’s also a Japanese girl name

Oh, I see. I don’t follow celebrity stuff. That’s funny. I do not think the stuff you say is widely known (I did not know though recall hearing he was racist). The racism makes the name choice for [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] peculiar- as well as the Rumiisnotwhite stuff I just saw regarding actor choice… It would seem he would likely think he is? (Besides it is probably only Americans, with their unusual race classification system, who could say with certainty that he was not).

Nameberry: [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
USA: [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]

[name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Carter[/name_u], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] (despise), [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], [name_u]Addison[/name_u], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] (LOATHE), [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] (despise), [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] (LOATHE), [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] (ugh), [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] (possibly the worst name of all time; certainly the male [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f]), [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] (the female [name_u]Brayden[/name_u]!), [name_m]Jaxson[/name_m] (how hard is this name to spell?!), [name_m]Greyson[/name_m] (both spellings? really?!), [name_u]Carson[/name_u], [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] (ugh), [name_m]Bryson[/name_m], [name_u]Jace[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] (ugh), [name_u]Kayden[/name_u] (despise), [name_u]Reagan[/name_u] (LOATHE – one of our worst presidents, why would you name an innocent child after him?!), [name_u]Ayden[/name_u], [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] (one of the worst names of all time).

Nameberry:

[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]: It sounds like something heavy falling down stairs.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]: [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Banana[/name_f]…
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]: Someone’s grandfather.

[name_m]Silas[/name_m]: It just has an unpleasant sound to my ear.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]: Either the novelty song by [name_m]Herman[/name_m]'s Hermits (“I’m 'Enry the Eighth I am, 'Enry the Eighth I am I am…”) or the old cartoon w/the bald boy in the red shirt.
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m]: For me it’s over the top in a bad way.

He was part of a class with privileges as Persian culture had the biggest impact on Seljuk empire - [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] probably doesn’t even know who [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] really was and sees him through lenses of religious dialogue bs sigh
