Everyone has a favorite name, and also some they’ve probably never liked! What are your top three from the 2018 most popular baby names that you just plain don’t like/or know why they’re so popular?
FYI- this is not to hurt anyone’s feelings at all. Everyone has different tastes, and you don’t have to necessarily hate these names to simply know you’ll never love them.

Girls ; [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] ! He was a misogynist, homophobic, racist bastard ! He wasn’t even Muslim, he compared his writings to Qur’an and copied Qur’an too. He accepted bribery from Mongolian chiefs and when his son died fighting against Mongolian invasion he disowned him and didn’t attended his funeral. He also didn’t do anything when his adopted daughter was beaten to death.

Is the name [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] as is currently used from this guy though? If so why for girls especially? It seems it has at least one other origin.

I am talking about NB list and not U.S list and I think [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] had impact due to [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] choosing the name for her daughter after the poet, I know it’s also a Japanese girl name
Oh, I see. I don’t follow celebrity stuff. That’s funny. I do not think the stuff you say is widely known (I did not know though recall hearing he was racist). The racism makes the name choice for [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] peculiar- as well as the Rumiisnotwhite stuff I just saw regarding actor choice… It would seem he would likely think he is? (Besides it is probably only Americans, with their unusual race classification system, who could say with certainty that he was not).

He was part of a class with privileges as Persian culture had the biggest impact on Seljuk empire - [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] probably doesn’t even know who [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] really was and sees him through lenses of religious dialogue bs sigh
