2nd baby name Atticus, Sawyer, Eloise, Ruby, Mabel

We are making our way through baby name land and have changed our idea of what we want in a name since the last time we had to decide. Our daughter, [name]Gemma[/name], got her name because we heard it in a movie (the not so great Fools [name]Gold[/name] movie with [name]Kate[/name] [name]Hudson[/name]). Now we want a good sib set name so i ts a little harder to come up with something. After a few suggestions from you all and our own thoughts, we have a decent list. Here it is:

For boys:
[name]Everett[/name] (middle)
[name]Sebastian[/name] (middle)

For girls:
[name]Penelope[/name] ([name]Penny[/name])
[name]Lucy[/name] (in some form…[name]Lucia[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name])
[name]Lila[/name] (though it’s rising so fast we are not sure)

As you can see we have some uncommon names and also some middle of the road names. Our last name is [name]Baze[/name] so the one syllable last name makes 2 and 3-4 syllable first names sound better.

Thanks for suggestions and if you have any more suggestions feel free! Which of these would you choose?

They are all pretty awesome names - my least favorite would be [name]Desmond[/name] and [name]Lila[/name]

I love love love

[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Baze[/name]

[name]Clementine[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Baze[/name]

[name]Gemma[/name] is so pretty!

For boys:
[name]Atticus[/name] – I like [name]Atticus[/name]. It goes well with [name]Gemma[/name].
[name]Sawyer[/name] – I love [name]Sawyer[/name]. I can see it with [name]Gemma[/name] as well.
[name]Dexter[/name] – I really really like this, however I don’t know how well it would go over with that show on TV right now
[name]Desmond[/name] – I had a teacher with this as a last name. He was a great guy, but I just can’t see it on a person because of him.
[name]Graham[/name] – I like [name]Graham[/name], but I don’t like [name]Gemma[/name] and [name]Graham[/name] together for some reason.
[name]Everett[/name] (middle) – I like it.
[name]Sebastian[/name] (middle) – [name]Feel[/name] like it’s a bit cliched for some reason.

[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Graham[/name]? [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Graham[/name]? Those are my definite faves, with [name]Sawyer[/name] edging out for the win!

For girls:
[name]Eloise[/name] – Very old lady to me!
[name]Mabel[/name] – Also old lady to me.
[name]Ruby[/name] – Totally love [name]Ruby[/name], but don’t like it with [name]Gemma[/name] at all. ([name]Gem[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]? Next baby would have to be [name]Sapphira[/name]!)
[name]Clementine[/name] – I’m such a plebe. I just think Oh my darlin’ I want to like it though.
[name]Pearl[/name] – Absolutely gorgeous! Again though, not with [name]Gemma[/name].
[name]Penelope[/name] ([name]Penny[/name]) – While I don’t like [name]Penelope[/name], I’ve always thought [name]Penny[/name] was just sweet. [name]Gemma[/name] and [name]Penny[/name], though? Not sure.
[name]Lucy[/name] (in some form…[name]Lucia[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name]) – I think [name]Gemma[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are sweet together. I only recently got used to this name, and it’s really grown on me. I don’t know why you feel you need a long form of it, but [name]Lucinda[/name] is my favorite if you have to have one.
[name]Lila[/name] (though it’s rising so fast we are not sure) – [name]LOVE[/name] IT. Goes wonderful with [name]Gemma[/name]. [name]Gemma[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] is awesome. [name]Lila[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is sweet as can be. I love it!

Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response Lieseysmom!

We really like [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] for first names now.

Boys, [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Graham[/name] so far, we’re having a tough time agreeing. Spouse likes [name]Atticus[/name], not sure here.

I agree with pp - although I like [name]Graham[/name], I just don’t like it with [name]Gemma[/name] for some reason - especially with a one syllable last name. I think [name]Atticus[/name] is a great fit but it just doesn’t seem like an everyday kind of name. I don’t know what that means, I guess, except that maybe it’s too much name for me?? [name]Sawyer[/name] would work very well, although my favorite from your original list was [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]. [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Graham[/name]? Very handsome!

For girls, I love [name]Eloise[/name] and think it’s a great match with [name]Gemma[/name]. They’re different enough to have their own personality but have the same vibe, for cohesion. I loved pp’s suggestion of [name]Lila[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] though. [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?
