I can’t figure out the multi quote so just going to bring up some names people have mentioned and thoughts! Probably leaving a lot out, sorry.
I would love to name her just [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], but my DH doesn’t really love it. He had a pony called [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and it’s a very common name in [name_f]England[/name_f] where he is from. He LOVES [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Also, [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is a huge family name for me. It’s the obvious name to pick. I do like it, but not head over heels and it was never on any girl name list I had. Can’t decide whether it matters if I love it or not. I also worry that [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] in [name_u]America[/name_u] is too masculine - along the lines of Pop, Pops, etc for a dad or grandfather. But if we went with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], I do like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] enough to use as a NN (DH would just have to compromise lol).
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] is one I seriously thought of with my first daughter because I saw a wren building a nest the day I found out I was pregnant and then saw the babies fly out the day I found out the gender, but it sounds too harsh to me without seeing the W. I love it writing and when thinking of the bird, but not so much just saying it cold to someone. [name_m]Just[/name_m] hear [name_u]Ren[/name_u]/[name_f]Rin[/name_f].
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is my favorite although everyone tells me it’s for an old lady. It is super similar to [name_f]Maple[/name_f] - same syllables, amount of letters, and ending. I don’t know whether that is cute or if the names would just run together. I don’t think so with that Z in there?
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] reminds too much of poison ivy since I get a terrible case each summer! [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is my cousin so that is out.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] isn’t any more out there than [name_f]Maple[/name_f], but I just think not enough substance with [name_f]Maple[/name_f]. [name_f]Maple[/name_f] is unusual, but had a lot of meaning for me so feels like a meaningful name, not just a cutesy one.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - love it, but know a million dogs called [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. [name_f]Love[/name_f] dogs, but now it doesn’t feel fresh anymore. Same with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. We actually had a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] ourselves. But I do like that style of name.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] my husband really won’t do.
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is the other name husband likes. i actually do like that and forgot to mention it. So [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] are probably my two favorites.
Thanks for the suggestions and opinions and please keep them coming!
