Another vote for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]! It’s classy, elegant and sweet. I also really like the idea of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] to honour your mother? Some adopted children can struggle with the concept of being adopted into/being part of a family they weren’t born into and sharing your mother’s name could help make them feel more included and more like part of the family like they most definitely are, as well as being a lovely gesture towards your mother. disclaimer: I’m not an expert on adoption, just based on things I’ve read.

I also was going to suggest [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and I think it’s really nice to honor your mom in the middle name spot. Best of luck!

Thanks [name_u]Lee[/name_u] for the advice. This is my fourth adoption and like every mother I have named all my children. The current name was given to her by an orphanage without much thought or care. All children like to know their parent took care and gave them a name that meant something to them.

I voted for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is beautiful and would be a lovely way to still honor your mother. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] was a close second. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is such a sweet name!

Have you considered using a Chinese name maybe as a middle to honor her heritage?

This is a great idea. Why not use a name authentic to your daughter’s culture?
