[b][name]Hi[/name] everyone! I’m 34 weeks pregnant with a baby girl.
The name I thought we had decided on was * [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name]* ([name]Eva[/name] for short) pronounced Eh-vuh…
I’m suddenly having second thoughts? I’m not sure if this is the perfect name for her. I am of mixed European descent and my husband is hispanic- So she will be 1/2 hispanic. We speak spanish at home, and I would prefer a name that is pronounced beautifully and easily in spanish.
I’m looking for a name that is gentle, feminine, sweet, soft, classy?
*[name]Isabel[/name] was another top name of mine for awhile… [name]Just[/name] not sure if it’s too popular?
Could anyone suggest names or give me your thoughts? [/b]
I think [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is lovely, but the middle name [name]Rose[/name] is overdone. You could keep [name]Evelyn[/name] and find a sweet Hispanic middle name. I’m not Spanish, so I’m not sure which names translate well in Spanish. Some middle name suggestions…
[name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is very nice. What does DH think? Is it pronounceable to his family? Does it seem okay to him in Spanish?I a ssume if you decided on it, it mistube okay…
I had a classmate in high school who was Hispanic and named [name]Evelyn[/name]. It was the first time I’d ever heard the name used in real life. And both [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Evelina[/name] are accepted names in Spanish, so I definitely don’t think that culture’s an issue with that name. I do like the suggestion of a more Spanish name in the middle though. [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is beautiful, but [name]Rose[/name] is becoming like [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Anne[/name]-- it’s everyone’s middle name now.
[name]How[/name] about these for Spanish middle names?
[name]Alma[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Gisela[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Lili[/name] or [name]Liliana[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Rosalia[/name]
[name]Rosana[/name] (continuing on your theme…)
[name]Violeta[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]
I tried to pick Spanish names that would be interesting (without resorting to [name]Maria[/name] or [name]Rosa[/name]), and that maybe would continue the flower/nature theme from [name]Rose[/name].
I speak Spanish and [name]Evelyn[/name] / [name]Eva[/name] are pronounced very nicely in Spanish. [name]Evelyn[/name] is very beautiful and [name]Isabel[/name] is VERY popular. I feel your pain- I too am trying to find names that can be said equally prettily in English and Spanish. I think you have a winner with [name]Evelyn[/name].
I’m not sure how popular [name]Isabelle[/name]/[name]Isabella[/name] is for babies born this year…but I teach 2nd grade and there have to be at last 15 in our grade alone! Too popular for my tastes!
Totally agree with the suggestion of [name]Isadora[/name]! Also, [name]Isabeau[/name], [name]Isolde[/name], [name]Isis[/name], or [name]Iris[/name] are other options!
