We have twin girls [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_u]Marion[/name_u]. Surname starts with a B.
Current contenders:
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] ([name_u]Sully[/name_u])
[name_m]Bram[/name_m]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] (too girlish? [name_m]Can[/name_m]'t picture it on a professional CV - am I overthinking this?!)
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (too similar to [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]?)
We like classic / old fashioned / not common but not too out there. Impactful boys names. [name_u]Strong[/name_u] but feminine girls names.
[name_m]Feel[/name_m] like the perfect name is out there and I’ve just overlooked it!!!
Thanks in advance - first time poster here and desperate for some ideas before this babe arrives!
Sullivan and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are brilliant! I don’t think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] although the repeated initial isn’t ideal. But it certainly isn’t a deal breaker either.
Other names that came to mind based on your description:
Bram and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] are a lovely options, if you don’t mind the alliteration with your surname. I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a bit close to [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], but not so close that you shouldn’t use it. [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] is also nice.
Maybe you like one of these names:
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u]
[name_m]Ludwig[/name_m]
[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]
Laura
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
My votes go to [name_m]Bram[/name_m] for boy and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] for a girl! I actually do not like the name [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], but it works so well with your other daughters.
From your list, I think [name_u]Sully[/name_u] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] go best with [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_u]Marion[/name_u]. I don’t think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]’s not that girlish.
For other ideas, I second:
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Phillipa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
and I would maybe add [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
I’m not a fan of suggesting super long lists so I won’t do that, but going off the vibe of your daughters names, the first set that came to mind was [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Sabina[/name_f].
I think both [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_u]Marion[/name_u] have a very mature and sophisticated vibe.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] doesn’t quite match that for me, it feels a lot more bubbly and youthful; however, that does not automatically make it a bad sister name. [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] does fit the vibe a little better as it feels more mature, but while I don’t think it’s too girlish or unprofessional, I can understand where you’re coming from.
Other sets I like are
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
As for your boys’ names, I personally prefer [name_m]Bram[/name_m], it feels a little softer (and [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] always makes me think of Monsters Inc.) but either choice works.
However, if I had to pair a boys’ name with your set, I would go for
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
Good luck & I’m sure you’ll find a name you love!
You’ve totally nailed my vibe! A little more mature yet still feminine. Actually we really love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] but struggle with a nickname for it and feel it may be too “big” a name. With [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] we do worry about “first glance on a CV” (which seems silly I know!) LOVE [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] but can’t get hubby across the line. I Google [name_m]Bram[/name_m] and see a wrestler and worry there’s some pop culture reference I’m not aware of that will bother the kid throughout life? [name_m]Can[/name_m] you tell I’m totally overthinking everything now haha?! Poor nameless baby…
If not [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] (a possible nn could be Phia), perhaps [name_f]Odilia[/name_f]/Odelia? [Honestly, how gorgeous would [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Odilia[/name_f] be?!]
It seems to fit your girls’ names even better and is less tied to [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]/tragedy while keeping the sophisticated and feminine vibe. [name_u]Oda[/name_u], [name_f]Dillie[/name_f], [name_f]Dia[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f] could be nicknames.
As for pop culture references, I think there’s something negative out there for every name, however, I think here it depends on the popularity of the reference - [name_m]Draco[/name_m] or [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], for example, a very much linked to [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] and the Addams Family because there a few other people or characters with this name, however, a name such as [name_m]Bram[/name_m], that has no one prominent association will be very easy to wear. If the wrestler has the same first and last name, that is a slightly different story, but if that is not the case I think you’re good!
Oh I’ve never thought of [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] - you could be onto something here! I do love [name_f]Odette[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ettie[/name_f]). Need to mull this over for sure! Thanks for your thoughts on the pop culture references too - all very valid!
Thank you! [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] but it’s been recent used by good friends. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is a beautiful name too - Cee Cee is so cute!
Thank you! We quite like violet but it’s becoming quite popular again. [name_f]Viola[/name_f] is a nice spin on it! Side note, we also have [name_f]Molly[/name_f] on the list!
