First post on Nameberry as I love seeing everyone’s name suggestions.
I’m due this [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] (22nd [name_u]December[/name_u]) and my partner and I have decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise.
Whilst we have several girl names ([name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] etc.), we are having major trouble shortlisting our boy’s list!
Personally, we both love [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] (named after my Grandfather, [name_m]Alfred[/name_m]), but I am hesitant that he will be one of several in his classes at school (if baby is a boy!). Other names I like include [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] although partner isn’t sold.
I just want to find a name that has an air of vintage without being overly common. I’m yet to have that “this is our name!” moment.
Our last name is quite long and begins with the letter W.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you live in the US, the UK, or somewhere else? It’s hard to come up with “not so popular” names when I don’t know which names are popular in your area!
From your list I like [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] the most. It’s both retro-cool and vintage and not that common if you live outside the UK!

I think [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] is great but I do know what you mean about its popularity; I’m in Australia and I know a couple of little boys with the name. Still, it’s a really nice way to honour your grandfather! I also absolutely love [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and really like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] as well (your girls’ names are delightful too!).
I like [name_u]Freddie[/name_u], although I would choose [name_m]Fred[/name_m], [name_m]Alfred[/name_m], or [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], nickname [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]. Also, I love [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] but if you are concerned with popularity, [name_m]Gable[/name_m] is a handsome name. Or maybe [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] with the nickname [name_u]Teddy[/name_u].
