39 weeks and still no name!

Currently 39 weeks with baby girl and still no name picked out. [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], and [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] all names I love. My husband has decided in the past 2 weeks he wants the name [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and will not budge. Reminds me of scooby doo. [name_f]Aria[/name_f] was our front runner the whole pregnancy but I was worried it is becoming too popular. Our son’s name is [name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]Donald[/name_m] and it’s perfect. You know the name but most likely don’t know many [name_m]Holden[/name_m]'s. That’s what I’m looking for again. Please help!

I think you should go with [name_f]Aria[/name_f]-- or at least something similar. It seems that at this point your husband will only agree to [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], and since you don’t seem to like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f] seems like the perfect middle ground seeing as it was the front runner for almost this whole time.
If you are looking for a name that is recognizable but not too popular, I think any of these would be a work-around with the name [name_f]Aria[/name_f] as a nickname instead:
[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f] (familiar where I live)
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] (a stretch?)
[name_f]Mariam[/name_f]
[name_f]Marianna[/name_f]

Perhaps you’ll like [name_f]Kamaria[/name_f] too, since you like [name_f]Kalina[/name_f].
[name_f]Kamaria[/name_f]

You have a lovely list. I like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Athena[/name_f] the most.

[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Carina[/name_f]
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]/[name_f]Arianne[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f]
[name_f]Kamilla[/name_f]

Maybe [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] could be the middle name. [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is lovely! Some others you have heard but aren’t TOO popular (like [name_m]Holden[/name_m]):

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lenora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Marilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Talia[/name_f]
[name_f]Annalee[/name_f]

[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f] are both beautiful

Are there any names you both like? What about [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] as a middle name? [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is a Greek mythological name like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], so maybe he’d like [name_f]Athena[/name_f]?

[name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] are my favorites. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is sweet, but I also have the Scooby Doo associations. Here are some other name you might like:

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Athena[/name_f] are my favorites!

I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f]? [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is pretty too.

[name_m]Holden[/name_m] reminds me of [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. In The Catcher in the [name_m]Rye[/name_m] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] was [name_m]Holden[/name_m]'s younger sister. The name is also taken from the Greek mythology, like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].

I never knew a girl [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and its a Greek Godess!

[name_f]Aria[/name_f] is beautiful!
I agree with pp that the mn could be [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is best as a first name. [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is at #29 and as somebody whose name was in the lower 30s my birth year, I only ever met 2 ppl with my name: once in kindergarten and once in college. If you are really having doubts about [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is my next favorite off your shortlist.
I don’t like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] as a fn bc I also think of scooby-doo

What about [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] nn [name_f]Aria[/name_f]? Sounds a bit like a smoosh of [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but is a mythological figure in her own right. And I’ve never met one.

I love your list! Not wild about [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but I don’t hate it. I think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] works best as a middle name. [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Athena[/name_f] get my votes, and I rather like [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] too. (I personally find [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] a bit too difficult to say, but that may just be me.)

I don’t think you should forego a name you love just because it’s a bit more popular lately. [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is popular but it’s also beautiful. Have you considered [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]? I always thought that if I had a little [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] I might call her [name_f]Aria[/name_f] as a nickname. Best of luck!

I love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] next to [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] would be lovely.

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]

I love all your choices (all beautiful!), but since you want familiar, and not popular, I’m going to say [name_f]Athena[/name_f] or [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] is your best bet in my experience. I’ve only known one [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and no [name_f]Kalina[/name_f]'s. From what I hear, [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is growing in popularity, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] can be a difficult mouthful for some people, and a lot of people associate [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] with Scooby-Doo (not that it’s a bad thing).

Between [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_f]Kalina[/name_f], I think I prefer [name_f]Athena[/name_f], but like I said, they’re both pretty names! I also love the [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] in the middle spot idea. [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] both sound amazing =]

[name_m]Just[/name_m] make sure you two agree! If [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is the only name you two both can agree on, then that’s your best bet. Popularity isn’t a huge deal if you both love the name. At least it’s not [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], or [name_f]Emma[/name_f], lol.

Exactly my thought!

[name_f]Delphine[/name_f], Daphna, and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] also came to mind as possible compromises.
