So we currently have 3 kiddos: [name_u]Cassady[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], & [name_f]Emmalin[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. We are due any day with baby girl, and we are at a loss. I’ve thought about doing a tribute to my late father by using his initials for her (his name was [name_u]Gary[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]). I love the name [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but our last name is Wise, so I think it sounds odd… We’ve also tossed around [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] “[name_f]Catie[/name_f],” [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] (though sounds too much like [name_f]Emma[/name_f]?), and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
Nothing seems to be sticking. Any ideas on name combos that will sound good with her brother and sisters? Thanks in advance!!
I actually think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] Wise sounds okay, but if you can’t find a G name you like, you could honor your father by using [name_f]Leona[/name_f] (for [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]) as the first or middle name.
I like
[name_u]Cassady[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_f]Emmalin[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f] [name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
([name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] honoring [name_m]Leonard[/name_m])
Does your father’s surname (and possibly yours) work a a middle name? I like the pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Leona[/name_f] or [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], even as a middle. Or maybe his birth month or the flower representing it?
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivi[/name_f])
Regarding the names you’ve tossed around I really like them! [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is a lovely classic name and [name_f]Catie[/name_f] is a sweet nickname. My only concern is that [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] I think visually clashes with the sibling set as she shares the same first initial as [name_u]Cassady[/name_u]. I think it’s nice that each child has there own first starting initial. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is also a lovely name with a sweet wholesome sound yet has the same issue as [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. Another ‘C’ name that has the same issue which features on your list is [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] has a lovely nutcracker vibe but again I am not keen on in this sibling set. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a name that I really love it’s regal, wholesome, and pretty but you already have a ‘J’ name so I would rule this one out. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] I think does sound to much like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] they rhyme. So after all that negativity (sorry) this leaves [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] is a lovely wholesome name she feels pretty and has a cool southern edge. I also love the [name_f]Annie[/name_f] nickname. [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] visually fits in with the sibling set too. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is also adorable. She’s spunky and vibrant also the name fits right in with [name_u]Cassady[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], and [name_f]Emmalin[/name_f].
Thanks everyone for the suggestions!! We kind of went off the wall, & now we think we have “the” name… Our current top pick is now [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
So the sibset would be: [name_u]Cassady[/name_u], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. Feedback welcomed ”
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] paired with your chosen middle and last names makes me think of a creative girl who might become a writer or illustrator.
Sounds like a great pick for you!
[name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] gets my vote.
I think [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] sounds fantastic with your other kids names, and [name_f]Leona[/name_f] would be a nod to [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
Other “[name_f]Anna[/name_f]” names that would be awesome with [name_u]Cassady[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], and [name_f]Emmalin[/name_f]:
[name_f]Annika[/name_f]
[name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
Other suggestions
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
Or [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] as a middle or a first–I like it better than [name_f]Leona[/name_f].
In my opinion, [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] sounds way too much like [name_u]Cassady[/name_u]. [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] has some possibilities. I could see the value of having a double letter. I would do at least a 2 syllable name to go with the others, or better 3.
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f] is a great suggestion.
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]/[name_f]Anneli[/name_f]–too close to [name_f]Emmalin[/name_f]?
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] or [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Isannah[/name_f]
Kilmeny
[name_u]Nicola[/name_u]
[name_f]Briony[/name_f]
[name_f]Annora[/name_f]
[name_f]Matea[/name_f]
Possible G.L. combos:
[name_f]Garnet[/name_f] [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_f]Garnet[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out we can’t use the name [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. Kind of a long story. I love a lot of the names suggested, but now I can’t seem to find a good replacement for the spunkiness of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. Any suggestions for a good spunky name? We are so sad we can’t use [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!!
