I am expecting a girl in [name_f]April[/name_f] and could use your help narrowing down a name. The Nameberry community helped my name my oldest!
Siblings are:
[name_f]Eleni[/name_f] [name_m]Stirling[/name_m] ([name_f]Eleni[/name_f] meaning “bright and shining”. [name_m]Stirling[/name_m] is a family name.)
Cline [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (Cline is a significant place name. [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is a family name.)
So far our favourites are:
[name_f]Delphi[/name_f] (del-fee. Also a Greek name like [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]. Our current fave, but I don’t know if it’s a) too cutesy or b) if the lack of strong meaning is a deal breaker.)
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (ihm-ah-jen. “[name_f]Immy[/name_f]” for short.)
Middle name will likely be another family name. Possibilities include:
[name_f]Marie[/name_f], Tobique (toe-bick), [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
Let me know what your favourites are, opinions or maybe you have alternatives??
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] are my favorite options for you. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is wonderful with the sibling names.
Your kids’ have very cool names. Here are my thoughts for #3:
[name_f]Delphi[/name_f]-This is cute, & I really like it w/your crew. If you’re afraid that it’s too cute though, how about [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] or [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]? I like those better personally. I also like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], which is similar. [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is my favorite though of those similar options. I do like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] a lot, but [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is more interesting & unexpected.
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]-This is cute, but seems a bit homey next to [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]. It’s not a deal breaker. I just like the other choices better w/your crew. This just seems a little lacking like it should be a nn. The only thing that I can think of is [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], but that’s not super pretty in my option. Maybe [name_f]Nicoletta[/name_f]?
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (ihm-ah-jen. “[name_f]Immy[/name_f]” for short.)-So cute! [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is just charming. It’s feminine w/out being too fussy, & the nn [name_f]Immy[/name_f] is very sweet. I also love the nn Idgie. I think that this is a great balance between [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] & Cline as well. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]? Or does it have to be [name_f]Evie[/name_f]? [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is stunning.
I kind of really like [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] as fns too. A few other suggestions:
@michellem
[name_f]Delphina[/name_f] is really cute!
We had a few of the names on your list on ours (including [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivie[/name_f]). [name_u]Love[/name_u] the spelling of [name_f]Vivie[/name_f]. Wondering about using that as a middle instead of [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (soft e to start. Eh-vee)?
I really like [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]/[name_f]Delphina[/name_f] with your childrens names. [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] [name_f]Vivie[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f] would be so sweet. [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] Tobique and [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] would be lovely too.
[name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is adorable! Lack of meaning shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, I think. It doesn’t sound cutesy either – it sounds like a unique name with a strong heritage!
Although of your favourites [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is my top pick (it’s what I plan on naming my little girl also due [name_f]April[/name_f]!) I think with your sibset [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] would be perfect! I hadn’t heard the name [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] before, but had come across Delphinium, I really like it’s vibe
I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] : ) [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is gorgeous name and [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is such a sweet choice especially with [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
