Genre of [name_u]Story[/name_u]:(Romance, Sci-Fi, Historical, [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] etc) [name_u]Urban[/name_u] fantasy, kind of a little bit like the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] series.
Time Period/Location:(e.g 1912, Djibouti)–modern day [name_u]America[/name_u].
Brief Plot:(You don’t have to give everything away but any important facts should be included here, for example: the new [name_m]King[/name_m] banned any names beginning with the letter A)–[name_f]My[/name_f] main character comes from a family of dark witches, but she’s actually good at heart. She rebels against her parents and older brother.
Character Names:: (List the character names you want assessed for cohesion here) [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Moonlight; [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] [name_m]Othello[/name_m] Moonlight “[name_m]Luc[/name_m]” (older brother)
Anything else?:(Any other relevant information) None, really. The girl has long dark hair. Also, I’d like some thoughts on the overall plot of it.
I’m not trying to offend you, but the names you have listed are stereotypical names for a witch or wizard. Specifically the last name. [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] could work, but I feel like [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] wouldn’t.
A name for the character. [name_u]Raven[/name_u] might fit, and it’s not too “out there.” [name_f]Nisha[/name_f] might.
Yeah, I’m really awful with last names, tbh. Maybe [name_f]Ravenna[/name_f] could work for the MC? I don’t want to use [name_u]Raven[/name_u] because it’s a spelling of my name.
Moonlight isn’t terrible as a last name, but it is kind of pretentious. Maybe something that doesn’t scream “witch” as much, but still meets the standards of being a witch name, if that makes sense. I’m not good at choosing surnames either.
I actually like [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] for the girl. If anything, it’s [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] that is too much for me. Too devilish. [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], perhaps?
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f] is okay. I understand why you don’t want to use [name_u]Raven[/name_u] since it is a spelling of your name.
I hope my opinion helped. The plot actually sounds interesting, too.
Perhaps use a name of one of the Puritans accused of witchcraft (or one of their accusers). You can google the names. There’s a [name_u]Salem[/name_u], MA site w/a lot of info.
