Please tell me which you like/don’t like and why. [name]Don[/name]'t be afraid to be harsh because I it helps me eliminate a name that’s just as helpful!!
I don’t have any problems with any of the names, they all look good. I prefer [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] to the others, but that’s because I like those names better than the other three. [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] are very royal family names to me, and I’ve never really liked the name [name]Oscar[/name]. But all your combos look and sound pretty nice to me. So, I guess I’m not that helpful! Maybe wait and see when the baby comes? I know plenty of people who have had a few different choices, and when they saw the baby they knew which it was! Good luck anyway!
I think [name]Jack[/name] [name]Wade[/name] sounds and looks too short, and it also reminds me of a jackweed, which is a (granted, uncommon) term for a jerk or a moron.
I really like all the others, haha. [name]Charles[/name] [name]Wade[/name] (love nn [name]Arlo[/name], though I like [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name], too) or [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Wade[/name] are the ones that stand out, but both [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name] would be good picks, too.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree that jack wade sounds too short but I really dislike the name [name]Jackson[/name] even hough it goes better with wade.
Also [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] seem royal to me too, plus my cousin has a dog named [name]Charlie[/name] and my husband hates the name arlo although I think it’s super cute!
[name]Arthur[/name] is my favorite and jack is my husbands favorite.
Also my daughter is [name]Eleanor[/name] if that helps any.
No matter what you choose these are all great names that would age well for your new son. I think you should go with [name]Arthur[/name].
[name]Jack[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - As stated by ellenelle “Jackweed” is not something to associate your son with.
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - [name]Henry[/name] to me is headed nowhere but up in popularity.
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - Pick this one. [name]Arthur[/name] is a great name and I’d love to see an little [name]Arthur[/name] over an overused boy name.
[name]Oscar[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - I dislike [name]Oscar[/name] and cannot get over the ‘grouch’ reference to see past anything else.
[name]Charles[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - [name]Charles[/name] is similar to [name]Henry[/name] in the fact that it’s headed up.
I think [name]Henry[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], and [name]Charles[/name] go best with [name]Eleanor[/name]. I’d get rid of [name]Oscar[/name] and [name]Jack[/name].
Although they are also both short, the classics [name]James[/name] and [name]John[/name] sound better with [name]Wade[/name] than [name]Jack[/name], and you can call him [name]Jack[/name]. [name]John[/name] [name]Wade[/name] sounds a little like [name]John[/name] [name]Wayne[/name], but that’s more kind of cool/funny than a problem. [name]James[/name] or [name]John[/name] also both sound better with [name]Eleanor[/name] than [name]Jack[/name].
[name]Henry[/name] or [name]Charles[/name] would be my top pick from your list, they both sound great with [name]Eleanor[/name] and with [name]Wade[/name] as the middle.
[name]Arthur[/name] is still kind of too clunky and old man for my taste, although it’s ultimately fine. It does share the ending with [name]Eleanor[/name] FWIW.
Similar issue (shared ending) with [name]Oscar[/name], although I like [name]Oscar[/name] more. [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Wade[/name] makes me think of [name]Oscar[/name] Wilde, which like [name]John[/name] [name]Wade[/name]/[name]John[/name] [name]Wayne[/name], isn’t really a bad thing, but is a specific association for you to consider.
I would go with [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Arthur[/name].
I’m a bit bored with [name]Jack[/name] as I know so many of various ages. And [name]Charles[/name] is a personal dislike and i know quite a few Charlies. Again [name]Oscar[/name] is popular.
I like that [name]Henry[/name] is a bit versatile but still classic. It can be [name]Hank[/name] or [name]Harry[/name] as well. [name]Arthur[/name] has the medieval fantasy connection, though I really dislike [name]Artie[/name] as a nickname. Think [name]Henry[/name] wins for me.
I think the two names above sound good with [name]Wade[/name] as well as [name]Eleanor[/name]. They’re vintage gems.
Why I didn’t choose the others?
[name]Jack[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - I love [name]Jack[/name] but it’s too abrupt with one-syllable [name]Wade[/name].
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - Strong tongue twisting r and w so it doesn’t flow very well.
[name]Charles[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - Ok but it blends into each other (Charleswade).
I love your name choices Also love the name [name]Wade[/name] because it is my dad’s name.
[name]Jack[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - [name]Jack[/name] is a little trendy, but not overly. I love it.
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - I adore [name]Henry[/name], wish my hubby liked it.
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - [name]Arthur[/name] is one of the names I am considering for next one.
[name]Oscar[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - The only name on your list I don’t like. I am tired of O names and it reminds of the wieners and [name]Oscar[/name] the Grouch.
[name]Charles[/name] [name]Wade[/name] - A classic name, love [name]Charlie[/name] as NN.
1 [name]Henry[/name]: this is my favourite with [name]Wade[/name] and with big sister [name]Eleanor[/name]. Sure, it’s more popular than [name]Arthur[/name] or [name]Oscar[/name] in the US, but it’s a classic name that sounds cheerful-- but also grown up. Like [name]William[/name] or [name]Alexander[/name], it won’t sound tired even if it makes it into the top five or ten. If you’re in [name]Britain[/name], [name]Henry[/name]'s the most timeless (slightly more popular than [name]Arthur[/name], slightly less popular than [name]Oscar[/name], but both [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name] have risen HUGELY in the last 5-10 years, while [name]Henry[/name]'s been consistently used).
2 [name]Arthur[/name]: I like this one a little more if you’re in the US, but I think [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Wade[/name] sounds a little clunkier than [name]Henry[/name] [name]Wade[/name].
3 [name]Oscar[/name]: [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Wade[/name] sounds a little less clunky than [name]Arthur[/name] wade, but I think [name]Oscar[/name] is more trendy and less timeless than the other two. Only by a little bit, though, and I really like the name!
I’d eliminate [name]Jack[/name] [name]Wade[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] [name]Wade[/name] because the two single-syllable names just don’t work as well as the two syllable ones. [name]John[/name] [name]Wade[/name] would be all right if you’re set on [name]Jack[/name]; [name]John[/name] goes with just about anything
Iesba - my husbands name is [name]John[/name] [name]James[/name] and he doesn’t want his son names after him which is why I thought jack would be nice. I love the name [name]James[/name] though!
I’m glad to see that many of you like [name]Arthur[/name] as well as that’s my favorite at the moment! Also ive been having contractions all day which are becoming regular so it looks like we’ll be heading to the hospital either late tonight or tomorrow morning and having a name ready will lessen my stress by a lot!!
I like [name]Arthur[/name] the most. The others are wonderful names and you won’t go wrong with whatever name you choose. My favorites are [name]Arthur[/name], followed by [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]. [name]Oscar[/name] is also a lovely name. It is hard to choose, they all are great names. I love how classic they are.
My favorites with [name]Eleanor[/name] are [name]Henry[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], or [name]Charles[/name] [name]Wade[/name]-- these names are more in keeping with the elegant/regal sense that [name]Eleanor[/name] has.
