My husband always says just choose a name that sounds good, not so easy when I have been obsessed with names and their meanings since I was a child, and this will be baby #5 and girl #4! We have a Laila, Lily (Liliana), Theo and Josie and prefer feminine girl names and I tend to shorten names so if it is longer than 2 syllables it needs a good shortened version. We are trying to stay away from “L” and “T” names so that Josie isn’t the odd one out. Last name is one syllable. Middle name will most likely be Colleen or Rose after family. These are some that are on our list right now:
June
Pearl
Clara
Sadie
Annalise
Tessa
My faves so far have been June and Pearl and my husbands is Annalise… but feeling very unsure so outside perspective is appreciated
I LOVE [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! That’s our top girl name right now. It’s just perfect. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is my second choice off your list.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] don’t feel like they fit in as well with the sibling names.
[name_f]Annalise[/name_f] I like, but again it doesn’t feel like it fits in with the sibling names. It feels like a different style.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite option is [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]. Second favorite is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]. I don’t hear it mentioned very often, but it’s still familiar. It’s spunky and strong. Both [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could work.
[name_u]June[/name_u] is my second favourite - timeless and refined.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]. I think it’s a bit outdated compared to the other names. How about [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f]?
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f],
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (prefer the simple [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to Anneliese)
I would steer clear of [name_u]June[/name_u] because then [name_u]Theo[/name_u] would be the odd one out.
I was thinking [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] before I even read your list I also think [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Annie[/name_f] would be really sweet
I have [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] all on my list of favourite names with [name_u]June[/name_u] being a middle name but I have often pondered about moving [name_u]June[/name_u] to the first name slot so of course I absolutely love all three names!
BUT (controversially) my favourite for you is [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]. I’m going against what the rest of the berries have said it’s definitely my favourite for you. You have three short names [name_f]Laila[/name_f], [name_u]Theo[/name_u] & [name_u]Josie[/name_u] with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (Liliana) sticking out to me as she is longer in length and frillier in sound. As a result I think you need a longer frillier sibling name which [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] definitely provides you. [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] is a lovely elegant name really sweet and delicate. I love the nickname [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and I think [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be beautiful
With a one syllable last name I think a one syllable first name maybe sounds choppy but without knowing the actual name it is difficult to know. I love [name_u]June[/name_u] but maybe [name_f]Junia[/name_f] would work better with a one syllable last name and I also love [name_f]Annalise[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and June, but I find [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] ,Tessa and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] beautiful as well
You have a lovely list! [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] (although I prefer Anneliese!), and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] are my favorites. With [name_f]Laila[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], and [name_u]Josie[/name_u], I think [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] are probably my favorites, but I honestly love all five with your kiddos. I like that [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] has a longer name with cute nn options, to fit with Lily… [name_f]Laila[/name_f], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] are all short in their own right.
Out of all on your choices, I think [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] fits the best. It also follows the two syllables that your other children’s names have. I also like that it doesn’t have an L sound either. Your other names may not start with Ls but [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] all have a strong L sound in it where you said with [name_f]Laila[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] you are looking to avoid doing that again.
Thanks for all your input!
After talking a bit more we may take [name_u]June[/name_u] off the list because our last name is Horn and I think the ending “n” sounds plus one syllables don’t sound that great, especially with [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] being the top middle name option.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband also is saying [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is his least favorite on the list so that will probably be off also:(
Also my husband likes [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] spelling but I think I like either Annelise/Anneliese better especially because I think I would use either [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elise[/name_f] as a nickname and they seem to make more sense to me with that spelling. What spelling do you prefer??? Still on the fence with this name though…lots of family significance but I don’t know that it feels like her name
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] has been my top choice for a while so thanks to all who said they liked that!
