[name]Hi[/name] there! Congrats! Many of your selected names seem like nicknames to me, were you planning on naming the baby a longer name and calling him or her the shorter version? Or were you planning on just naming him or her the name below as a full name?
As someone with a very short name and no nickname potential, I would highly recommend naming your baby the longer, more full name so he/she has the option of using that for formal or professional purposes later in life.
BOYS
[name]Ned[/name] just okay for me, I like others better but I do like [name]Susan[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Edward[/name] for the longer name. Then he could be [name]Ned[/name] or [name]Eddie[/name] (which is also very cute!)
[name]Alfie[/name] [name]Love[/name] this if you use the full name of [name]Alfred[/name] and call him [name]Alfie[/name], very cute but it can grow with him into adulthood with the full name
[name]Joe[/name] [name]Joesph[/name]? [name]Josiah[/name]? nn [name]Joey[/name]? All great options
[name]Louis[/name]/[name]Lewis[/name] I [name]Love[/name] both [name]Louis[/name] (pronounced [name]Louie[/name]) and [name]Lewis[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are adorable!
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Love[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] too! There was another post about [name]Hugo[/name] a few weeks ago and I also stuck up for him then! Adorable, strong yet sweet, not terribly common but totally approachable. Adorable!
[name]William[/name] Good solid name. Tough to go wrong here.
[name]Noah[/name] Not my favorite for some reason, but a nice name also
[name]Jacob[/name] has been #1 I think for a while, just a consideration.
[name]Ben[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]? Very nice, strong, classic.
[name]Nate[/name] [name]Nathan[/name]? Cute, fairly common but still a great choice
[name]Carter[/name] slightly trendy, but I still like it. It doesn’t have the classicness of your other choices
[name]Fred[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] is a GREAT name and I think underused lately. Very handsome!
[name]Kirk[/name] as a middle would go great with some but not all of these choices. Lets pick the firsts you love and then search for middles because right now there are SO many combinations!
Other firsts to consider:
[name]Micah[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]/[name]Archibald[/name] nn [name]Archie[/name]

[name]Wade[/name]
[name]Warren[/name]
For girls we have
[name]Abby[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] is beautiful, strong, and smart and [name]Abby[/name] gives her the option of a cute and fun nickname!
[name]Ava[/name] VERY popular (#4) she likely would have many other Avas in her class. Too bad though because I also love this name and hadn’t realized its recent popularity.
[name]Josie[/name] I love [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Josephina[/name], as [name]Jocelyn[/name] is a great option to nn [name]Josie[/name]
[name]Poppy[/name] Cute but DEFINITELY needs a longer name to give her the option when she’s older (ie: she is CEO of a company named [name]Poppy[/name]? Probably would like [name]Patricia[/name] or another longer name to fall back on) Here are some options: [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Priscilla[/name], [name]Pomona[/name], [name]Philippa[/name] (also nn [name]Pippa[/name]), [name]Petra[/name], [name]Paulina[/name], [name]Paloma[/name], [name]Pamela[/name], [name]Padma[/name]
[name]Tilly[/name] Cute nickname for [name]Talia[/name] or Altamira, I am sure others can come up with more!
