5 for review

[name]Just[/name] looking for thoughts on these five…

[name]Mina[/name]
Cl”mence
[name]Helen[/name]
[name]Sabine[/name]
[name]Vera[/name] (vehr-ah, not vee-ra)

I was also thinking of the first two in a combo, [name]Mina[/name] Cl”mence.

Any and all thoughts are much appreciated!

Here are some thoughts:

[name]Mina[/name] - pretty. Feels a little incomplete, like it should be part of [name]Amina[/name] or [name]Willamina[/name] or something. But useable. I’m realize I’m assuming Mee-na. Meye-na is pretty but I like it less, although it actually does feel more of a full name, I’d spell it [name]Myna[/name]. [name]Minna[/name] is also nice but I’d spell it that way.

[name]Clemence[/name] (I can’t make the accent happen on my computer) - Really like to see this virtue get used without [name]Clementine[/name] (which I love, but is very tied to the song as I’m in the US and seems to be really trendy in the UK). However it is VERY bold, as you probably know. Might be safest in the middle, but go with what you like. I always look for an excuse to use nn [name]Clio[/name] and maybe that could work here?

[name]Helen[/name] - a great name but so much more standard and timeless than the rest of your style. [name]Helena[/name]?

[name]Sabine[/name] - pretty. I knew a [name]German[/name] with this name so it was prn [name]Sabina[/name], but probably [name]Sabeen[/name] for you? eiher way, I do think it confuses people and they want it to be [name]Sabrina[/name] a little.

[name]Vera[/name] - one of my very favorites with either prn, although I do like vehr -a better too. I’m probably not a non-biased enough source to judge. I know some people find it rather dated.

I love the rhythm of [name]Mina[/name] [name]Clemence[/name]!

Best wishes!

[name]Mina[/name]: I think it’s lovely, but I really prefer it as a nickname (though I do think it can stand alone fine). I think it’s my favorite out of [name]Mina[/name], [name]Mira[/name], and [name]Mila[/name].
Cl”mence: I love Cl”mence, but it’d never get pronounced the right way in an English-speaking environment. cleh-MAHNS is gorgeous but [name]CLEM[/name]-ents just isnt’ attractive. For that reason, it’s an amazing middle name.
[name]Helen[/name]: I really like this name, though I do prefer [name]Helena[/name].
[name]Sabine[/name]: It’s nice enough, but the myth kind of puts me off. Plus it seems to blend in a lot with [name]Sabrina[/name], [name]Serena[/name], [name]Celine[/name], etc.
[name]Vera[/name] (vehr-ah, not vee-ra): My instinctive pronunciation (and I think that of others) is veer-a, but I think vehr-a is doable. Like [name]Mina[/name], I consider it a nickname, but it can stand alone too.

[name]Mina[/name] Cl”mence is gorgeous! [name]Helen[/name] Cl”mence would be lovely as well, or maybe [name]Helena[/name] Cl”mence.

[name]Mina[/name] – I like [name]Mina[/name], but I prefer it as a nickname to something like Wilhemina
Cl”mence – [name]Love[/name] this!
[name]Helen[/name] – Classic but pretty under-used in my opinion. This was my favourite great-aunts name too.
[name]Sabine[/name] – I quite like [name]Sabine[/name] these days although I used to think it was terrible.
[name]Vera[/name] (vehr-ah, not vee-ra) – Pretty, but I think you’ll have a lot of people saying ‘vee-ra’

So, in order of preference: [name]Clemence[/name], [name]Helen[/name], [name]Sabine[/name], [name]Mina[/name], [name]Vera[/name]

wow i love your taste in names.
okay so, my thoughts:

[name]Mina[/name]- so sweet! i would love to meet a little [name]Mina[/name]. is that prn ‘meee-na’ or ‘min-na’
either way, like it a lot. i don’t have a problem with it as a full name either; i think its sweet as is. although Wilhemina or [name]Jessamine[/name] are lovely names! with the middle name [name]Clemence[/name] i think it sounds perfect, btw. the right mix of formal and fun.
Cl”mence- like this, but i dont love it. maybe a bit too formal? it would swing it if there was a good nickname, but i hate [name]Clemmie[/name] and can’t think of another
[name]Helen[/name]- hmmmm, i love [name]Helena[/name] but [name]Helen[/name] sounds dated but not dated enough to be vintage, to me. haha
[name]Sabine[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] this. graceful, modest, french. the long eeee is so charming. i can imagine a big eyed, twinkly little girl with this name
[name]Vera[/name] (vehr-ah, not vee-ra)- lovely, and prefer this pronounciation. however, as a pp said a lot of people will mispronounce. but hey, no huge deal! would sound especially good with a modern middle name to modernize it to the full…

are you expecting or just planning ahead, just out of interest?

Oh, I’m just planning ahead. [name]Nick[/name] and I talk about names a lot though. I’ve read enough articles about naming nightmares to want a solid base of names for us to work from before we truly have to decide

[name]Mina[/name] - I say it as Mee-na.

Also I should add that I’m half-French and have grown up in the US with a hard to say/spell French name…I think it’s much more doable than most people expect. Still a valid point though. My name has an accent and I debate whether I would want a child of mine to have one - I find it mostly to be a pain on the computer

I love [name]Sabine[/name]! I think it’s so effortlessly pretty and quirky. I’d love to see somebody use it.

[name]Mina[/name] - I think this is just great on its own. I love it and I think its the next [name]Sabrina[/name].
Cl”mence - Noooo. When I picture the owner of this name in my head it is always a male or an ugly woman nicknamed “The [name]Clem[/name].” I’m sure I’m alone on this one, but I had to mention it.
[name]Helen[/name] - classic.
[name]Sabine[/name] - fresh, beautiful, light.
[name]Vera[/name] (vehr-ah, not vee-ra) - I agree with your version and think the name is lovely.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I’m pleasantly surprised by the generally positive feedback on [name]Sabine[/name] as it’s our #1 right now
