5 ways to help me choose a name

My other 3 children are named [name]Dani[/name] (girl), [name]Levi[/name], and [name]Max[/name]. Please help me choose a name from this list:

*1-List your favorite name, and why.
**2-List your least favorite name, and why.
3-List the name you’d choose that goes best with the siblings names.
4-Thoughts on the other names?
5-[name]One[/name] other name you’d suggest

[name]Aubrey[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Sienna[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Sydney[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Neysa[/name] (pron Nee sa)
[name]Tegan[/name]
I also like [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Violet[/name], not sure if too celeb inspired though.

  1. [name]Aubrey[/name]. It has a timeless, classic elegance.
  2. Tie between [name]Sienna[/name] and [name]Sloane[/name]. [name]Both[/name] sound too modern, and I associate them with made-up, American names.
  3. [name]Rowan[/name]. I would stay away from names that start with the same letter as any of your other kids, and would use a two-syllable name. I prefer [name]Rowan[/name] to some of the other options, though [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Tegan[/name] would fit the requirements.
  4. [name]Love[/name] [name]Avery[/name] as well as [name]Aubrey[/name]. I also really like [name]Rowan[/name]. [name]Nora[/name] is beautiful, but doesn’t go with a sister named [name]Dani[/name].
  5. [name]Blair[/name].
  1. [name]Love[/name] [name]Nora[/name] because it means “light” and is soft and feminine w/out being frilly. I don’t think it would work with your other kids’ names though

2)[name]Neysa[/name]- don’t know how to pronounce this one and I’m guessing others might have trouble with it too.

3)[name]Sydney[/name]. I think it goes with the unisex-but-feminine theme (like [name]Dani[/name])

4)I think [name]Avery[/name] or [name]Neve[/name] would also go but I don’t like them as much as [name]Sydney[/name]

  1. [name]Sam[/name] or [name]Alex[/name] as girls names? I think they would go with all your kids’ names.

1-List your favorite name, and why - I like [name]Nora[/name] for its simplicity.

2-List your least favorite name, and why - [name]Neysa[/name] for its made up look. It strikes me as a strange way to get to [name]Agnes[/name].

3-List the name you’d choose that goes best with the siblings names - [name]Nora[/name] isn’t too feminine so I like it with [name]Dani[/name]. For a more unisex choice, I would choose [name]Rowan[/name].

4-Thoughts on the other names? - I like [name]Avery[/name], [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] but they end the same way as [name]Dani[/name]. I love [name]Violet[/name] but it’s matchy with [name]Levi[/name].

5-[name]One[/name] other name you’d suggest - The spunky and sassy [name]Georgia[/name] nn [name]Georgie[/name].

  1. [name]Rowan[/name] - I’ve always loved this name, I really like the sound of it and it goes great with your other kids names.
  2. [name]Delaney[/name] - I don’t think it’s pretty, i don’t like the sound of it and its too close to [name]Dani[/name].
  3. [name]Rowan[/name]
  4. [name]Neysa[/name] is my moms name and I’ve never heard it on any one else so I love that its on your list. Here are the names from your list that I like besides [name]Rowan[/name]: [name]Lena[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Neve[/name] (I prefer the [name]Niamh[/name] spelling though), Hazel & Violet are gorgeous by the way and not too celeb inspired at all
  5. [name]Hadley[/name] or [name]Signe[/name].

(1) [name]Sydney[/name] is my favorite because it’s underused and I think it’s cute on a girl.

(2) My least favorite is a tie between [name]Neve[/name] and [name]Tegan[/name]. [name]Neve[/name] because it sounds incomplete and [name]Tegan[/name] because it sounds unattractive. I’d recommend changing the T to an R and making it [name]Regan[/name] instead and then I’d love it.

(3) The name that best goes with the siblings is [name]Sydney[/name], [name]Avery[/name], or [name]Sloane[/name], all of which are unisex.

(4) No real thoughts on the other names. I really like [name]Lena[/name], but it seems incomplete to me. I’d make it [name]Elena[/name]. The others really aren’t my style, but I know they have some appeal to others.

(5) Suggestions:

[name]Regan[/name]
[name]Samantha[/name] (she can go by [name]Sam[/name] or [name]Sami[/name], which goes really well with her siblings’ names)
[name]Miranda[/name] (she can go by [name]Randi[/name] or [name]Randa[/name])
[name]Reed[/name]
[name]Michaela[/name]
[name]Leigh[/name] ([name]Leighton[/name] if you prefer a full name)
[name]Jamie[/name] (Jamisen if you prefer a full name)

Fav is [name]Lilly[/name] because it is sweet and feminine.
Least fav is [name]Sloane[/name] because it looks ugly and for some reason has always reminded me of slugs.
[name]Aubrey[/name] for your sib set
No thoughts on the others.
For you I would recommend [name]Tess[/name] or [name]Tessa[/name], and [name]Haven[/name].

  1. [name]Sadie[/name]
  2. [name]Neysa[/name]
  3. [name]Nora[/name]
  4. [name]Nico[/name] or [name]Joni[/name]
  1. [name]Delaney[/name]. It has a sweet and feminine vibe without being overly frilly/girly/delicate.
  2. [name]Rowan[/name]. I find it way too masculine to be a girl’s name.
  3. [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Sloane[/name].
  4. [name]Sadie[/name] sounds too much like a golden retriever; [name]Neysa[/name] will be too hard to pronounce; [name]Nora[/name] is a little too nicknamey for me.
  5. [name]Georgia[/name].

[name]Favorite[/name] :[name]Rowan[/name]…love love love it
Least favorite [name]Neysa[/name] looks made up
[name]Rowan[/name] is perfect
Others are just OK
My suggestion is [name]Aster[/name]

  1. [name]Rowan[/name] …I’m a little biased though
  2. [name]Sloane[/name]
  3. [name]Sydney[/name] or [name]Tegan[/name]
  4. Is [name]Dani[/name]'s name short for [name]Danielle[/name] or [name]Daniella[/name]? If not, I would go with another tomboyish name to compliment your other daughter ([name]Tegan[/name], [name]Sydney[/name], [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Avery[/name]) If it is, go with [name]Sienna[/name], [name]Sadie[/name], or [name]Nora[/name]. I love [name]Sydney[/name] on a girl, [name]Neysa[/name] is really cool sounding, I only like [name]Tegan[/name] pronounced [name]Tay[/name]-gan but I do like it, [name]Lily[/name] is too common, [name]Aubrey[/name] is just kind of blah to me, Is [name]Neve[/name] pronounced NEEV or NEHV? I like it pronounced NEHV, but it does remind me of [name]Neve[/name] [name]Campbell[/name]. I have always disliked [name]Sloane[/name] for some reason…I think it’s the SLO- sound at the beginning.
  5. [name]Samara[/name] or [name]Samira[/name], [name]Dani[/name] & [name]Sam[/name] = adorable!

1: [name]Lena[/name], because it sounds soft and pretty.
2: [name]Sloane[/name], it has always just sounded really masculine and harsh to me.
3: [name]Sadie[/name].
4: I like [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Lily[/name], and [name]Sadie[/name]. The others are okay.
5. [name]Zoe/name

  1. [name]Lily[/name] - because its cute but doesn’t sound too frilly and girly
  2. [name]Tegan[/name] and [name]Neve[/name] - because they sound made up [name]IMO[/name]
  3. [name]Sydney[/name] - because its a really good unisex name that sounds nice with the sibset
  4. I prefer [name]Elena[/name] to [name]Lena[/name] and I’ve always had a soft spot for [name]Nora[/name]. [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Avery[/name], and [name]Sadie[/name] are getting to be way too overused.
  5. [name]Parker[/name]
  1. [name]Lena[/name] is probably my favourite off your list, followed by [name]Violet[/name] (not even a little bit too celeb inspired!), [name]Nora[/name], [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name].

  2. My least fave is [name]Sloane[/name], I think it has an ugly, sluggish sound. I just don’t like saying it. It sounds drab and grey to me. I can’t explain it, it really is just the sound that puts me off, as basic a reason as that is. Also not keen on [name]Neysa[/name] (it sounds and looks made up/trendy, and you have to explain the pronunciation which your daughter will then have to do forever), and to a lesser degree [name]Tegan[/name], [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Sydney[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] which just aren’t really my style but I don’t hate.

  3. To go with [name]Dani[/name], [name]Levi[/name], and [name]Max[/name], which all sound short, sweet, straightforward, a little bit cool and energetic, I say: [name]Sadie[/name], [name]Sienna[/name], or [name]Rowan[/name], in that order.

  4. Think I’ve given my opinion on most of the names. [name]Delaney[/name] is nice but seems a little longer and fussier than your other names and I don’t like the machiness with [name]Dani[/name]. [name]Lena[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] seem matchy with [name]Levi[/name]. [name]Sienna[/name] is pretty and seems a pretty good match to your other children’s names. [name]Neve[/name] also seems a good match, short and sweet, but shares that strong “v” sound with [name]Levi[/name] which I’m not sure about, seems matchy again. [name]Hazel[/name] just isn’t a favourite of mine, and doesn’t seem to match your other children’s names at all, way too vintage. Same goes for [name]Violet[/name], although I love [name]Violet[/name].

  5. [name]One[/name] other name I’d suggest…hmmm…just one?? I’m gonna go with [name]Thea[/name] then. It seems to mesh together the different styles you like, it feels modern and yet has a lot of history and would blend well both with cool, modern names, and quirky, vintage names. Again it’s simple and straightforward and doesn’t share any strong sounds with your other children’s names so feels unique next to them, but also well matched.

So my faves are:

  1. [name]Dani[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Max[/name] & [name]Thea[/name]
  2. [name]Dani[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Max[/name] & [name]Sadie[/name]
  3. [name]Dani[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Max[/name] & [name]Rowan[/name]
  4. [name]Dani[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Max[/name] & [name]Sienna[/name]

Four very different names, [name]Sadie[/name] cute and vintage, [name]Rowan[/name] unisex, naturey and strong, [name]Sienna[/name] pretty and feminine, and [name]Thea[/name] I feel balances all the names out  All could work depending which route you decide to go though!

Good luck!

Oo also love [name]Mischa[/name] and Erinlw’s suggestion of [name]Georgia[/name], Redtulips suggestion of [name]Tessa[/name] and Rowangreeneye’s suggestion of [name]Samara[/name] - they’re all perfect with your children’s names! Ahh the Berries are clever

What do you mean by the [name]Neve[/name], Niahm spelling?

FYI - The Dutch surname [name]Neve[/name] (nev) and the Irish first name [name]Niamh[/name] (neev) are NOT the same name. They have no relation to each other.

*1-[name]Teagan[/name]–(spelled with the ‘a’) because it’s spunky, unusual but accessible, and has a bit of a myth-y/sci-fi feel about it.
**2-[name]Neysa[/name]–because it feels like it belongs with [name]Kayla[/name], [name]Allysa[/name], and all those sisters that need a long rest
3-Depends–just to be sure, [name]Dani[/name] is your daughter’s full name, not a nn? Assuming so, you’ve got a couple of ‘old man’ names (which is a good thing), paired with a rather androgynous girl’s name. I think I’d go with [name]Lena[/name] because it’s a diminutive of [name]Helena[/name], just as [name]Dani[/name] is short for [name]Danielle[/name]. My hesitation is that [name]Lena[/name] on its own sounds considerably more girly than [name]Dani[/name].
4-Thoughts on the other

[name]Aubrey[/name]–I love this name, but it’s too romantic, too Celtic to be a part of your sibset
[name]Avery[/name]–Exactly the same as above, but sounds more masculine. I’d want something a bit more feminine
[name]Delaney[/name]–again too Celtic. Plus I don’t like [name]Dani[/name]/[name]Laney[/name]—which would be a risk.
[name]Lily[/name]–love it, classic, but I think it will be dated within a decade or so
[name]Rowan[/name]–Celtic again
[name]Sadie[/name]–probably my second choice off your list. Simple, two syllable like [name]Dani[/name]–not too girly
[name]Sienna[/name]–too trendy and too romantic for your down to earth sibset
[name]Sloane[/name]–I like it, and it’s simple and not girly. But it sounds too rich and privileged for your group
[name]Sydney[/name]–comes a close 3rd to [name]Sadie[/name]. For me though, it has similar issue to [name]Sloane[/name]–it the late 80’s/early 90’s it seemed to be the ultimate Preppy name
[name]Nora[/name]-I love this name. And I think it fits with [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Max[/name]. It’s a sweet, soft, beautiful little old lady name with a little spunk added. But [name]Dani[/name] sounds like [name]Levi[/name], [name]Max[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]'s babysitter, not their sister.
[name]Neve[/name]–I like this, but when I say “[name]Dani[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Max[/name] and [name]Neve[/name]”, I get Maxinev…

I also like [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]—as do I. And they are beautiful names that will never be ‘wrong’. But…I think that in 2050, it will be fairly predictable that a woman named [name]Hazel[/name] or [name]Violet[/name] was born in the first 20 years of the century. And, again, I think they are too girly compared to [name]Dani[/name].

  1. I’d suggest–[name]Georgie[/name]

*1-[name]Neve[/name] - gorgeous name; girly name without being frilly

**2-[name]Neysa[/name] - i’m not familiar with this name; sounds like [name]Lisa[/name] with an N

3-[name]Lena[/name], [name]Rowan[/name] or [name]Neve[/name]

4-[name]Aubrey[/name] - I prefer [name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] - ok unisex name
[name]Delaney[/name] - nms
[name]Lena[/name] - love
[name]Lily[/name] - like but very popular and very girly with [name]Dani[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] - good unisex name
[name]Sadie[/name] - prefer as nn for [name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] - more masculine
[name]Sydney[/name] - like especially on a boy - like on a girl
[name]Nora[/name] - pretty
[name]Neve[/name] - love
[name]Neysa[/name] - nms
[name]Tegan[/name] - ok

  1. [name]Aria[/name]

Good luck!

favorite name, and why. - [name]Sydney[/name] - love this on a girl! (from the mom of a [name]Charlie[/name] girl)
least favorite name, and why. - [name]Lena[/name] - just sounds old to me
goes best with the siblings names. - [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Nora[/name]
Thoughts on the other names? [name]Sloane[/name] (on my list too), [name]Avery[/name] (love but too popular for me), [name]Neysa[/name] (too many options for mispronunciation)
[name]One[/name] other name you’d suggest - [name]Morgan[/name]
