My husband and I have completely different styles when it comes to names and still haven’t been able to come up with something we equally love. I like unique and he likes common/classic ([name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_m]Allen[/name_m]). I’ve come up with some combos I like quite a bit but I can tell he doesn’t love anything. His favorite name is [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] and came up with [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] lastnight. Both names are on my list so it’s the closest we’ve gotten to an agreement. Problem is our lastname starts with A and I worry about the monogram FAG.

From your list and to go along with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], I would choose [name_u]Roan[/name_u] or [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. I actually like them paired together - [name_u]Roan[/name_u] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], especially since he hates [name_m]Wilder[/name_m].
I wouldn’t want FAG for a monogram so if you think that is something that will come up then I would try something else.

Wouldn’t the monogram be FGA if your last name starts with an A? Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean by a monogram, but I think the initials FGA are fine…

I don’t love [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] for the same reason, it kind of just sounds like a crayon to me. Not a deal breaker, but just my thought…

@emsky we actually love the name [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. I just haven’t thought of a name I love to go with it. I think I’d prefer it as a mn though. I’m obsessed with the ‘wild’ part of [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] so similar names just haven’t done the same for me.

@shalexis thanks for your opinions! I never thought of [name_m]Forest[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] sounding like a color, I don’t know what color it would be? Maybe a green-grey lol but I totally agree. Still doesn’t bother me so much as the initials. In the new monogram it’s the ln initial between first and middle. Your issue with [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] is actually one of the main reasons I love it. I does sound like a title but I like the picture it paints.

Hmmm I’ve never heard of the new monogram, but if that’s something that will bother your then it’s definitely worth thinking of alternatives! I can’t think of an actual color with [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u], I think I’m just reminded of that because forest green is crayon and it’s similar. If you like the visual with [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] I think it could totally work, it just happens to be an issue that I think would bother me with my child’s name, but I wouldn’t think anything of it if I met someone with that name. Some double word names are worse than others, [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] is definitely not a bad one!

Also if your last name begins with an A, his initials have to _ _A, so there is no possibilities of having the initials you hate. Okay, truthfully do you want your little son to be embarrassed about his name? Probably not so try to take the older fashioned names out like [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]. I’ve never heard of someone named [name_u]Roan[/name_u], [name_u]Steel[/name_u], or [name_m]Hanan[/name_m], eve though I like the first two very much.
