I think your surname makes some of your options unusable - in particular [name]Lane[/name]. [name]Lane[/name] Glass sounds like someone’s smashed a bottle in an alleyway. [name]Deacon[/name] and [name]Tyne[/name] don’t really work for me either, and [name]Macauley[/name] is all Culkin.
I think [name]Regan[/name] is okay.
There are names in your signature that are infinitely preferable to the ones in your poll. [name]Micah[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] would be fantastic, or [name]Jonah[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name]. I think a “-ah” name sounds really good with your surname.
Thanks for your thoughts, but I disagree.
Glass is an extremely Jewish surname so I think any hebrew names wouldn’t work (ruling out the likes of [name]Noah[/name], [name]Micah[/name] and [name]Jonah[/name]).
I don’t really understand why Hebrew names wouldn’t work. Especially [name]Noah[/name] - at this point it’s more in the “popular” category than the “hebrew” one for most people.
Because we’re not Jewish, and these paired with such a Jewish surname would sound very much like a Jewish name.
The popularity of [name]Noah[/name], as much as I love it, also rules it out for me. My main concern has been to choose a non-Top 100 (UK) name, and one with personal meaning to us
I’m not really looking for alternate suggestions, just votes on preference based on our choices.
I agree that [name]Lane[/name] Glass is much too noun-y for me, but I think any of the others sound find. [name]Regan[/name] may be more feminine here (I am in the US) but despite it’s entry, I don’t think people think [name]Tyne[/name] is necessarily feminine. I think it’s just uber rare and people may know tha tone actress but I think most won’t be familiar with the name. That being said…
I quite like [name]Deacon[/name], and I think the flow is nice and it’s altogether very handsome. [name]Tyne[/name] would be my second choice. I’ve never met a [name]Tyne[/name], and I like the sound and also think it works well with the rest of the combo.
If I remember correctly from previous threads you really had your heart set on [name]Tyne[/name]! If that is still the case, I say use it! It got my vote.
[name]Lane[/name] Glass and [name]Tyne[/name] Glass don’t quite flow right for me and I agree [name]Lane[/name] Glass is a bit too noun-y (also reminds me of a pane of glass). [name]Macauley[/name] is very strongly linked to [name]Macauley[/name] Culkin for me I think his brothers ([name]Kieran[/name] and [name]Rory[/name]) have much better names :). Between [name]Regan[/name] and [name]Deacon[/name] I prefer [name]Regan[/name]. I actually quite like it for a boy- very handsome!
I voted [name]Lane[/name]. I have always loved that on a little boy. I detest [name]Regan[/name] on either sex. I think [name]Tyne[/name] and [name]Deacon[/name] would also be nice.
Is [name]Lane[/name] in honor of your maiden name, [name]MacLean[/name]? If so I really like it. [name]Deacon[/name] is so, so much fun, too-- very distinct from your other choices in style. And the original [name]Tyne[/name] is still lovely.
[name]Regan[/name] I would rule out both because the most famous British [name]Regan[/name] is a girl (a daughter of [name]King[/name] Lear), and there’s the US President to boot.
I still like the sound and cadence of [name]Macauley[/name] but think it’s so unusual that even all these years later it’s a one-man name, for Mr Culkin. Did you care for any other [name]Mac[/name]- names, like [name]Macallister[/name] or Macalpin?
