We have 3 kids–[name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. We’re expecting another girl and I would like another old-fashioned, feminine name for this little one. Here are some of my faves and some that won’t work for one reason or another:
Faves–please give your opinion!
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is beautiful (but the meaning is sad eyed, or cow eyed, which is not so great). [name_f]Elena[/name_f], how about combining [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] with [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Annalea[/name_f]? [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]?
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is a nice sub for [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f].
Your childrens’ names are just beautiful! I love [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and I love how well it fits with [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m].
I think that, of your Faves, [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] fit the old-fashioned and feminine bill the best. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] are pretty too, they don’t feel as old-fashioned to me though. And that would be a lot of A names, but if that doesn’t bother you it’s not a problem! [name_f]Leah[/name_f] seems a bit more dated than your other options, and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] is more stylish/chic than old-fashioned.
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]–[name_f]Pauline[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Cara[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]–[name_f]Astoria[/name_f], [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]–[name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Annora[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
[name_f]Annalie[/name_f]–I think [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] from your Faves list is a great alternative, if you like [name_f]Annalie[/name_f] a lot! Also: [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]–[name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Tia[/name_f]
I also agree with pp mentions of [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]!
I won’t use A names because [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] will the only one without it, but that’s just me. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite from your list is [name_f]Clara[/name_f].
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f] - I second this.
[name_f]Lenora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliora[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna/name_f
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]? To rhyme with [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? Is it ever pronounced [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen?
PS–[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is on my seconds list!
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] sound wonderful! I’d stay clear of a name beginning with A as [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] already begin with A and it can look a bit ‘too much’ if that makes any sense.
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is my favorite from your choices. I think it’s OK for one kid to be I and the rest to be A, but I might be in the minority. I have no idea. I love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] too. I pronounce it leen at the end, but you could do either. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Annora[/name_f], [name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f], and [name_f]Leonor[/name_f] is what I’ll suggest.
Since [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] share the double A, I would chose a name that has something in common with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is a bit too similar sounding.
Suggestions:
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Melissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Melanie[/name_f]
[name_f]Melinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f] or Melusina?
I also like the idea of another “I” name. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is wonderful! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Inez[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] or [name_f]Imelda[/name_f]?
