6 Weeks until due date. Maya or Sophie?

I’m due in six weeks! Any honest thoughts on these names? We don’t care at all about popularity.

Maya feels fresh and modern, yet pretty. Baby is due in May and Maya has some greek meaning tied to spring.

Sophie sounds sweet, love the meaning “Wisdom” and french feel. I like the way Sophie looks written out more than Maya, which looks harsh to me sometimes. We will not do the Maia spelling.

Maya Claire
Maya Josephine
Maya Camille
Sophie Mae
Sophie Lynn
Sophie Claire

I like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] more than [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] but some of these combinations are really beautiful in their simplicity.

I like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u] or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Claire. Very

From your list I would do [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] Josephine. I’ve met Maya’s and Sophie’s. Both are smart, wearable names that will grow with her. You really can’t go wrong.

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u]

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is my favorite of the two. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u] are both stunning!

If you’re open to it, I think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is also a great option

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is lovely!

Both are nice!
I like the sound of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] more but the look of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] more… not even sure why!!!
I don’t think you can go wrong. Good luck!

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] seems like the right choice for you! [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is my favorite combination; “clear, shining wisdom” seems like a good meaning!

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] for sure!! [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is an adorable name that’s so soft and gentle on a girl and it’s fitting as she grows older too. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] on a young adult has that posh, elegant appeal and as an older adult gives that mature, but still spunky and wild touch! [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is cute, but I see it more as a little girl’s name and not more as an adult. Also, I knew 2 Mayas who ALWAYS complained about thinking they heard their name but actually it was someone saying “My…uh…dog was outside” or something along the lines of that. If you say a bunch of phrases with “my something” you’ll see how often [name_f]Maya[/name_f] could be heard. (Some examples to say out loud: My…uh…sister was in town, my…uh…alarm didn’t go off, my…uh…foot hurts.) I think you see the point I’m trying to make. I love that you’re thinking about the [name_f]May[/name_f] honoring in the name…so maybe [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] May? [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] (love!!) are some other good alternatives. I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Mae/May and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and I think they are the sweetest names for your little girl! I love the meaning behind [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Maeve…Wisdom and Powerful!!

I like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] but [name_f]Maya[/name_f] wins out for me. It’s such a cool, spunky name and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u] is a beautiful combination.

I like Sophie!!! It’s so elegant and chic :purple_heart:

Also, I knew sisters called [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] - funny how that happens :joy:

Congrats!

I was on team [name_f]Maya[/name_f] to begin with, and when I saw “Maya Claire” it was settled for me! Such beautifully simple combo!

Maya!

I can’t shake it, but [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] to me has always made me think immediately of a standard / [name_u]French[/name_u] poodle.

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are fantastic combos

I love [name_f]Maya[/name_f] for you.

But maybe [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] - [name_f]Mae[/name_f] honors her birth month, although I DO prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] nn Sophie.

Congrats :partying_face::tada:

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Maya[/name_f] she is beautiful really upbeat happy name and I think with the connection to your daughter’s birth month a perfect choice for you. Visually I disagree that [name_f]Maya[/name_f] looks harsh I think she looks attractive and is overall a really beautiful name. The combination [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is absolutely stunning!

I love Sophie, and I prefer it for you. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is nice, too, but it sounds like you have stronger/more reasons for liking Sophie: You like the “feel” of both, but [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] has a meaning that’s great in and of itself, whereas Maya’s meaning is a factor only because of when the baby is due. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] for [name_f]May[/name_f] is a cool connection, but in my opinion “wisdom” trumps “the time of year I was born”. You also don’t like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] written out. Would that continue to bother you forever? I vote [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Claire! Good luck!

I feel like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] give you the best of both names !

You can’t go wrong both [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] are beautiful and have cool pop culture references.

Of all the combinations [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is my favourite but I would go with your heart

I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (and prefer it over Maya), so that gets my vote! I like all three of your middle name options, but I wonder if [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] May?) has an edge in giving you the same spring connection as Maya? I particularly like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] for the meaning. You really can’t go wrong here though–you have two lovely first name options, and all of your middles flow well! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
