7 weeks til baby and we CANNOT agree on names... Any input please!

My husband and I have been debating and disagreeing on names for months now and as we are getting closer and closer I am really worried we never will… I recently posted our debate about [name]Camden[/name] or [name]Grant[/name] and while that did get [name]Camden[/name] removed from the list my husband is still not loving [name]Grant[/name].

Here’s some names I like but for various reasons we cannot use…

[name]Mason[/name]
[name]Caden[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name]
[name]Ryan[/name]

What is important to me is to have a strong name, that has a formal/proper feel to it (though it can have a cutsie nickname). I am more drawn to names that are surnames but I don’t like ones that are not really uncommon. For example, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Grant[/name] because it’s not an unusual name, but it has never been in the top 10 so it’s also not common. It’s timeless or classic. I’m looking for something that fits in my style but my husband can agree with.

I am really worried that I will not be able to change my mind from [name]Grant[/name] and my husband is getting increasingly frustrated with my rejection of all his ideas: [name]Brock[/name], [name]Bryce[/name], [name]Emmett[/name]… These names feel to casual and/or country for me!

Any help is very appreciated!

[name]Hi[/name] there

I can only imagine how stressful this must be. My mom always says that sometimes you might be stuck between a couple names, but when the baby arrives you are able to pick one. With that said…here are some other names I thought of that you might like…

[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Ryder[/name]
[name]Troy[/name]
[name]Coleman[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] that helps! Or if you’re stuck on [name]Grant[/name], perhaps your husband can choose the middle name?

THanks all… We did have [name]Nolan[/name] on our list but somehow that was dropped… maybe we’ll have to consider that one again.

And I love [name]Graham[/name] as well but I am hesitant because of “graham cracker” references as well as I call my grandma, “[name]Gram[/name]” so I don’t know it sometimes sounds odd to name a boy that.

It is incredibly difficult because I just feel it in my bones that this baby is a [name]Grant[/name] so I am really having a hard time choosing any other name but I am trying to be fair to my husband and look at other options. I’m very type A so not having this settled is making me bananas!

[name]Grayson[/name], Andrick, [name]West[/name], [name]Weston[/name], [name]Westley[/name], [name]Boyer[/name], [name]Carey[/name], [name]Cass[/name], [name]Drake[/name], [name]Drew[/name], [name]Eli[/name], [name]Graham[/name], [name]Moses[/name], [name]Marshall[/name], [name]Mercer[/name], [name]Hoyt[/name]

Well, I know it sounds a bit silly, but if your mama’s instinct is telling you to go with [name]Grant[/name], I would do it. Talk to your DH and see if he is willing to go with [name]Grant[/name] if he can choose the middle. Did he have any other favorite names that might be a good combo with [name]Grant[/name]?

Have you tried using [name]Grant[/name] as a first name with a name that your husband likes for the middle? Compromise? My husband always jokes that I “plant a seed” by mentioning a name…then he ends up glomming onto it. I also joke (but not really joking) that when he goes through the pregnancy and delivery…he can have the final say…til then…
Maybe if you drop it for a few weeks? Or settle on [name]Grant[/name] and another name…then decide when you meet him?
For the record…I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Grant[/name].
Good luck!

What about:
[name]Findley[/name]
[name]Holden[/name]
[name]Landon[/name]
[name]Gilbert[/name]
[name]Garnet[/name]
[name]Garrett[/name]

[name]Grant[/name] is a great name. It also makes a good solid second name.

[name]Grant[/name] is a nice name. I’ll throw in a few random suggestions, good luck!

[name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Forrest[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Bryson[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Hudson[/name]

I wish you all the best. It’s so difficult to find a name both parents love. No one wants to compromise on such an important decision. [name]Grant[/name] is a very nice name… Here are some other names that have a sort of similar vibe to me.
