I like names that people have heard of as names but aren’t common. Sort of like British boarding school names. We are having our 7th (a boy!!!) and our only other boy is named [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] (“Barnes”).
Our top choices right now are:
[name_m]Lazarus[/name_m]
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]
[name_m]Moses[/name_m]
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] (is this name too common/popular?)
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
Thoughts on these names (or ones that fit but we haven’t thought of?)
I love [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] for you. I think Nathan/Nate is pretty common, but Nathaniel/Nat has a totally different vibe to me, much more in line with your other names.
[name_m]Moses[/name_m] is my second favorite, but I would expect the family who used it to be extremely religious. I don’t think of it as a “British schoolboy” name at all.
Maybe you’d like [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_m]Deacon[/name_m], [name_u]Dean[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] or [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m].
I love [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and [name_m]Deacon[/name_m], but we are trying not to repeat initials and we have a [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. [name_u]Dean[/name_u] is such a cool name to me
Lazarus is my favorit for you out of all of those names and I think it goes perfectly with his big bro

Nathaniel seems to be more populat that what youre looking for imo because of the amount of Nate’s and Nathan’s
Mordecai and Ulysses may fit what youre looking for but besided not being my style and also not a fan of the names but theres nothing wrong with them, just really not my cup of tea… but i guess they could grow on me

I personally know quite a few Nathaniel/Nathan’s, but most are much older.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite with [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] is [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]. I don’t like the similar endings with [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m].

I don’t think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is too popular (but then again I could be wrong), but I think it wouldn’t fit a lot in terms of style-with [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m], that is. I read that you have a [name_f]Diana[/name_f], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] would work with that, it depends on what sort of names your other kids have

Also it might be nice to have another 1 syllable nickname he goes by like Barnes.

Winston (like churchill) but go by Wynn.
