[name_m]Hi[/name_m], Berries! You guys helped come up with the perfect name for our first daughter (3mmelin3) (3=E) so I’m back for help! We have less than 8 weeks before baby girl # 2 is due and we just can’t come up with something as perfect as E’s name.
[name_m]Ol[/name_m]!v!a has been on the table but somehow it isn’t sitting quite right for us. We can’t put our finger on what it is but it’s off somehow. Maybe because we’d prefer 3 syllables? I don’t even know that that’s for sure the issue (and probably not for my husband as he doesn’t pay attention to things like that). We considered Lyd!a but something about it feels incomplete. He likes 3velyn nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f] but I’m not sold. And are 3mmy and 3die too close for nns? He also tossed out 3den but it seems so short compared to our first daughter’s name.
I don’t have anything to throw out there, really. I like some names on paper but not when actually spoken. Examples include Geneviev3 and Vivienn3. Madelein3 (pronounced [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]) is one I like but a) not enough to use and b) hubby isn’t a big fan but was willing to make it a middle if we went with [name_m]Ol[/name_m]!v!a.
I’d love something on par with our first daughter’s name - feminine looking on paper, strong sounding, not super popular but doesn’t feel out of place among all of the Emmas and Emilys out there right now. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would be a good option to get to his preferred nn of [name_f]Edie[/name_f] but it was my grandmother’s name so it’s out for me. I also love that she can use her full name, 3mmy, or [name_f]Em[/name_f]. I’d really like something with multiple nn options but that isn’t a total deal breaker for me.
I even went back and read suggestions from my first pregnancy and nothing is sticking out as THE name. Can you berries work your magic again?
