[name_u]Baby[/name_u] Girl is due in 8 wks and we are still undecided on a name.
We have been leaning towards [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] ([name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is the only nn we will consider for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]) for a couple weeks now. However I was never sure enough to quit looking and in my search I found [name_f]Aristella[/name_f].
So I would love to know which would you rather meet?
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]”
Or
[name_f]Aristella[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] “[name_f]Stella[/name_f]”
Both are lovely , but if i had to choose i would pick “[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]”
and i know you said [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] was the only nickname you would use for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] but i just wanted to say that my favrouite nicknames for the name are [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] flows a lot better than [name_f]Aristella[/name_f]. [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] imo is just a little too out there for me. And while I’m not a fan of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], it goes very well with [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]. It sounds lovely when you say it out loud.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] by itself sounds okay, but [name_f]Aristella[/name_f], I’m not too crazy about. Out of the two, I puck [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
I like both a lot, however, honestly, I’d rather see [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] as it’s a lot less common and I love that! [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Stella[/name_f]’ [name_u]Dove[/name_u] is lovely.
I love [name_f]Aristella[/name_f]! It’s unusual, but it has a lot of familiar sounds, so I don’t think your little girl will have any problems with it. I don’t like the name [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] personally, and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] just sounds awkward to my ears. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] sounds pretty though, I think.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] is beyond gorgeous! (My personal favourite nickname for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is [name_f]Nell[/name_f] :))
I like both but I lean towards [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] as a first. That being said, [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] is so beautiful I wonder why you don’t consider that on its own, too.
I like the nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] better than [name_f]Stella[/name_f] but I like [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] more than [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! Mostly because [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] are uncommon. Is popularity an important aspect to naming for you? If so, what would you rather be less common? The actual name or nickname? Whichever one, I personally would go with that name
Best wishes!!!
I really like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]! It’s very peaceful feeling, and I think the nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is cute (I’ve been admiring the similar [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Pippi[/name_f] lately!). I love [name_u]Ari[/name_u] names, but I’m not the hugest [name_f]Stella[/name_f] fan, so if [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] would have gone by [name_u]Ari[/name_u], I might have been able to see the appeal, but since the [name_f]Stella[/name_f] part is emphasized, I’m not as much of a fan. [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] is certainly intriguing, but I personally like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]” more.
I like names that have both a unique aspect as well as a popular well known aspect. For example, big sister is [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] nn [name_f]Milly[/name_f]. When you talk to adults about their names many say, I hated having such a popular name and wanted to stand out or I hated having such a unusual name and wished I could blend in with all the [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]'s etc.
So, I want her to have the best of both worlds. That’s why the names and nicknames are paired the way they are.
As far as using just [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u], I do love it but would like to continue with a ‘nickname’ option as we’ve done before.
I vote for [name_f]Aristella[/name_f], as I like it better as a first, although I agree [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Selah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] is a gorgeous combination of names
