I dont think we will decide until she is born but I feel like I still need to get it down to 2 or 3. The middle name will most likely be [name]Bonnie[/name] to honor my [name]MIL[/name] eventhough I prefer to use a B name like [name]Bridget[/name]. My FIL is already engaged to a new women less than 8 months after her death so my husband feels like his mom is already forgotten. I am starting to feel like now I have to give in to the [name]Bonnie[/name] middle name. Oh and big brothers name is [name]Jack[/name]!
My favorites of your’s would be [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name]. (Spelled this way. She can still go by [name]Kate[/name] with a K, my aunt does.) They both sound good with [name]Jack[/name]. [name]Bonnie[/name] really doesn’t flow well with any of them. Two middles maybe?
I would choose [name]Katherine[/name] over [name]Kathleen[/name]. [name]Katherine[/name] derivatives get dated ([name]Karen[/name], [name]Kaitlyn[/name], [name]Kathleen[/name]), but [name]Katherine[/name] is timeless. Also to consider if you choose [name]Caroline[/name] you can’t really use [name]Charlotte[/name] in the future and vice versa as they are both derivatives of the same name.
Good [name]Luck[/name]! I think [name]Bonnie[/name] flows fine with all names, and it’s a very special name to y’all.
[name]Claire[/name]: I love it, and think it’s great with [name]Jack[/name].
[name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Kate[/name]): I really love [name]Katherine[/name], and love it with [name]Bonnie[/name], too. I think it’s great with [name]Jack[/name]!
[name]Kathleen[/name] ( [name]Kate[/name]): I love [name]Katherine[/name] more, but that’s just me.
[name]Charlotte[/name]: I love it!
[name]Caroline[/name]: I love it so much!
Without taking the middle into account, [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], and [name]Caroline[/name] are my favorites (I do love [name]Claire[/name], too, though), and with [name]Bonnie[/name] in the middle, my personal favorites are [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name].
I really love that you’ll be using [name]Bonnie[/name] in the middle. I think it’s such a sweet name, and most importantly, it honors someone special.
I hope you choose the first name you love the most!
[name]Claire[/name]: I love [name]Claire[/name], but I don’t think it goes best with [name]Jack[/name] because they’re both two syllables. That isn’t really much of an issue, though, and I guess it could be a plus.
[name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Kate[/name]): [name]Even[/name] though it’s a timeless, classic name, I find it a little dull (especially this spelling, and nn [name]Kate[/name]). I like [name]Catherine[/name], though.
[name]Kathleen[/name] ( [name]Kate[/name]): I really like [name]Kathleen[/name], but I know it’s considered dated by a lot of people.
[name]Charlotte[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]. The only thing you might have to worry about is its rising popularity and trendiness. I love it with [name]Jack[/name]!
[name]Caroline[/name]: I love [name]Caroline[/name], too! [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] sound great together.
I think [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name] sound good with [name]Bonnie[/name]. My favorites are [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Claire[/name], but all of them are nice.
[name]Claire[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it! It’s great with [name]Jack[/name], but might get you stuck on a one-syllable theme, which isn’t bad. [name]Claire[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] is okay…
[name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Kate[/name]) - I much prefer [name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Cate[/name],” personally, and I think [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] flows best of your first names. [name]Katharine[/name] “[name]Kate[/name]” is also more appealing to me than [name]Katherine[/name], but I don’t know why!
[name]Kathleen[/name] ([name]Kate[/name]) - I actually know a [name]Kathleen[/name] who goes exclusively by [name]Kate[/name], and her dad sometimes messes up and calls her [name]Katherine[/name]! Maybe that’s saying something…
[name]Charlotte[/name] - I adore [name]Charlotte[/name], and it is perfect with [name]Jack[/name]! [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] is very sweet sounding…
[name]Caroline[/name] - Such a pretty, classic name, and beautiful with [name]Jack[/name]! [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] is a bit of a mouthful to me, for some reason, but it works!
FIRST CHOICE - [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] “[name]Cate[/name]”
SECOND CHOICE - [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name]
If you aren’t set on [name]Bonnie[/name] as a middle name, maybe you could honor [name]Bonnie[/name] by using her middle name! Or, try a name that means “pretty,” like [name]Bonnie[/name]! You could always use two middle names as well…
[name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] (just call her [name]Claire[/name], but I like the order better)
[name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Kate[/name] or just [name]Kate[/name])
Otherwise I would use a name that you actually like for the mn.
For the middle name, I would just use [name]Bonnie[/name]. I think it’s the clearest way to honor your [name]MIL[/name] and it seems like that is really important to your DH. And it sounds fine with all the names on the list.
[name]Claire[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Claire[/name] by itself and especially with [name]Jack[/name]! It’s simple, classic and soft.
[name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Kate[/name])- As previous posters have said, I prefer [name]Catherine[/name] (nn [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Cate[/name]) because it looks more elegant and regal somehow. I also like [name]Katharine[/name] very much too.
[name]Kathleen[/name] ( [name]Kate[/name])- I prefer [name]Katherine[/name] much more than [name]Kathleen[/name] since [name]Kathleen[/name] feels a bit dated. It’s still a pretty name though.
[name]Charlotte[/name]- I love [name]Charlotte[/name] so much but it’s getting quite popular. Because of this, it isn’t my first choice. If popularity doesn’t matter to you though, it’s a wonderful choice to use.
[name]Caroline[/name]- I think [name]Caroline[/name] is lovely and compliments [name]Jack[/name] beautifully.
My top choices are [name]Claire[/name], [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], in that order. You really can’t go wrong though!
My biggest problem is I love all the names on our list. For some reason [name]Claire[/name] keeps creeping to the top. I dont have a problem with getting stuck with a one syllable pattern since we dont plan on anymore children and I love the no nickname factor in both [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Claire[/name].
I think my next favorite is [name]Charlotte[/name] but I do worry about her being [name]Charlotte[/name] F her whole life. It seems like little Charlottes are popping up everywhere and we already are having that issue with [name]Jack[/name]. This being said I wouldnt go back and change [name]Jack[/name]'s name, I just still love it so much and he is such a [name]Jack[/name].
[name]Caroline[/name] is my DH’s favorite and has been one of my top names for ages. And [name]Kate[/name] is just the perfect name to me - simple, short and strong. But again I worry about so many [name]Kate[/name]'s out there with all the different versions of [name]Katelyn[/name], [name]Kaitlyn[/name], Katherines etc…
Regarding the middle, it will have to be [name]Bonnie[/name]. My [name]MIL[/name]'s middle name is [name]Ruth[/name] which I dislike even more. I know alot of berries like it but I just cannot stand it. It is just too much of an old lady name and paired with our last name [name]Friedman[/name] I think it screams old lady to me no matter how pretty the first name is.
I lOVE [name]Claire[/name]. It’s a perfect sibset with [name]Jack[/name]. [name]Catherine[/name] is lovely as well, but [name]Claire[/name] has a more flirty and fun vibe to it., while mainting that classic charm.
I agree with other posters that [name]Bonnie[/name] doesn’t flow with any of your choices. It has a tense feel to it, that would be better paired with a longer 4 syllable name like [name]Angelina[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name], or [name]Catherina[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name].
[name]Claire[/name] is my favorite with [name]Jack[/name], BUT I love [name]Caroline[/name] the most! I love your list of names–most of them are on my favorites list.
I know, I just have keep thinking no one really uses the middle name. I dont love [name]Bonnie[/name] with any of them but I just have to honor my [name]MIL[/name]. My DH needs it too much and she was a great lady that left us too soon. I would be thrilled if my daugher was half the lady she was…
[name]Love[/name], [name]Love[/name] [name]Claire[/name]!! It’s perfect with [name]Jack[/name], and I think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] flows nicely!!
I love the idea of honoring your [name]MIL[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name]!
So pretty:
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] - my fave
[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] - second fave
[name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] (call her [name]Claire[/name]) - third fave
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Bonnie[/name] fourth fave, but I love all of them.
