I need a boy name for my boy/girl twins. For my girl, I have decided on [name]Lilac[/name] for a first name - I’ve always loved it and it matches her older sister’s name ([name]Lily[/name]) because they are both flower names. However, I can’t decide on a name for my boy twin. I don’t want anything too cutesy or twin-y; I want them to have their own identities. However, I also want the names to sound good together. Some boy names I am considering include:
Also, which of these names would you put together in a first-middle combination? (I kind of like [name]William[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] but I am open to anything). [name]Feel[/name] free to add other suggestions! I also need to decide on a middle name for [name]Lilac[/name]. Here are some of my thoughts, but feel free to add your own opinions:
If it helps, their siblings are [name]James[/name], [name]Al[/name], and [name]Lily[/name] - and no, our last name is not [name]Potter[/name]. Pure coincidence that the names sort of match!
I like the way [name]William[/name], [name]Nathan/name, and [name]John[/name] sound best within the sibset. I think I like the longer more flowing sound of [name]Nathaniel[/name] as a twinset to [name]Lilac[/name]. I really want to vote for the other HP names on your list but I think [name]John[/name] is the only one that works. [name]Arthur[/name] is too close to [name]Al[/name] in my opinion and [name]Remus[/name] seems a bit too “out-there” next to the other kids’ names.
You children’s names are very [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name], which I am loving! Are you sure you don’t like the name [name]Lavender[/name] as much as you like [name]Lilac[/name]? Haha. Suggestions: [name]Dean[/name], [name]Charles[/name], or [name]Theodore[/name]? Good luck! =]
To amydomsmom: Haha! I didn’t even realize [name]John[/name] was HP until you pointed it out! I know [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Remus[/name] would be pushing it with the little [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] theme we have going on, but I can’t help it…I’ve loved those names forever! They will probably be vetoed anyway, but I thought I’d just put them out there for suggestion! I do like [name]Dean[/name], but I had an uncle who I was not close to named [name]Dean[/name] so I don’t think I can do that, and [name]Charles[/name] is a little bit too old-fashioned for my taste. However, I love [name]Theodore[/name] and will consider that! Thanks so much for your reply!
I really love [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Diana[/name] for your little girl. I really like [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Aiden[/name] for your little boy.
Some other suggestions that might go nice botanically are
I like [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Diana[/name]. What about [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Dianthe[/name] (greek for flower)? I like [name]William[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] from your boys list. [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Artie[/name] is super cute.
As much as I love [name]Lilac[/name], I think [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] are too matchy for siblings. From your list, I like [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Diana[/name] the best. My favourite combo for this name is [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Jane[/name].
Your boys names seem kind of bland next to [name]Lilac[/name] with the exception of [name]Remus[/name]. I like pp’s suggestion of [name]Jasper[/name] for her sibling.
If I heard you had twins and your kids names were Lily, Lilac and John, I’d think Lily and Lilac were your twins.
Have you considered Violet instead? Or Primrose?
I wouldn’t use Lilac Primrose because it refers to two different types of flowers in one name.
Lily, Violet and Remus
Lily, Primrose (Prim)and Heathcliff (Heath) would be a great combo in my mind. All your kids would have nature names and I like that the twins names would be similar in length as well.
If you feel comfortable straying away from the flower theme for your girls Lilac could make a beautiful mn for your second daughter without being too matchy with Lily. Some of your mn choices could make great fn’s.
I really like the name [name]Lilac[/name], but I find it much too close to [name]Lily[/name], to be honest. That being said, I think the combination [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] (or [name]Isabel[/name]) is lovely. What about [name]Lilac[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]? I’d recommend that you don’t give [name]Lilac[/name] a flower middle name. That’d be too much. Also:
As for your boy list, I think all could work except [name]Remus[/name], which is too blatantly [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] in style. [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]John[/name] or [name]John[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] is handsome.
[name]General[/name] consensus seems to be that the names [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lilac[/name] seem too ‘matchy’ for sibling names. Lately I have been loving the names [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]William[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] for the twins. Thoughts on these?
I would recommend staying away from [name]William[/name] otherwise you will have [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Willy[/name].
I think [name]Silas[/name], [name]Sterling[/name], [name]Jude[/name], or [name]Anders[/name] could be very nice.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Lilac[/name] & [name]William[/name] [name]Remus[/name]
So you don’t get [name]Lily[/name]/[name]Willy[/name], you might want to enforce [name]Liam[/name]. Personally if I had a [name]William[/name] [name]Remus[/name], I’d call him [name]Remy[/name] or [name]Wolf[/name].
I think [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Daniel[/name] or [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] go very well together and still give the twins their own identities.
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] [name]John[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Alyce[/name] and [name]Daniel[/name] [name]John[/name]
Or, how about (If I can suggest):
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Ariadne[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Morgana[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Christine[/name]
I really like [name]Lilac[/name], but is is quite matchy with [name]Lily[/name]. I also love [name]Lavender[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]
