A BOY named Phaedra

This.

Really, unless you name your kid something ridiculous in this naming era like [name]Gaylord[/name] or [name]Dick[/name], you’ll probably be able to shirk name teasing entirely.

Thank you!

This is interesting to me because I could definitely picture [name]Phaedra[/name] on a male.

I think it’s fine.

I think it’s a great name on either gender, and it was bold of them to use a traditionally female name on their son. Sounds great with Astala too (which I also love!). I’m kind of obsessing over his middle names, Bloom and [name]Forever[/name], as well. Not everyone’s taste, but very cool I think.

This.
I find that just unacceptable. It’s just as bad as naming a girl [name]Zeus[/name] imo.

[name]Don[/name]'t like it at all. There’s nothing “brave” about doing something that only affects another person. Renaming yourself something controversial could be brave but bestowing a controversial name on a child who has no say in the matter? Not brave at all. If anything, it’s selfish. The kid’s the one who’s going to have to deal with this name, not the mother. It would be like calling someone “brave” for outing a gay person (Oh how brave of you! You just made life difficult for someone else! However did you muster up the courage to do that?)

I totally agree! Poor little [name]Phaedra[/name] will most likely go around all his life with people thinking he is a girl!

Well he won’t because everyone knows who his mum is.
I find it fine on a boy mostly because I’ve never heard it before and alos we go on about boys names on girls but when it happens the other we hate it just as much?? Anyway Astala and [name]Phaedra[/name] are really good together

Well, thank you for your opinion, ebenezer.scrouge. I didn’t mean it in a bad way.

I’m so shocked to hear of the death of [name_f]Peaches[/name_f] Geldof at just 25 years old. She leaves behind her husband, two young boys and her devastated family. Sadly, she follows in the footsteps of her mother [name_f]Paula[/name_f] Yates. [name_m]RIP[/name_m] [name_f]Peaches[/name_f].

I was shocked as well. So young and leaving so much behind. [name_m]RIP[/name_m]

[name_m]RIP[/name_m] [name_f]Peaches[/name_f], sad news indeed.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] heard it. Such sad news! [name_m]RIP[/name_m] [name_f]Peaches[/name_f].

Beyond shattering news. Her sons are so young! Rest in peace.

[name_m]RIP[/name_m] [name_f]Peaches[/name_f]. I was always intrigued by her family and their interesting names.

Ick, not for a boy!

I am really bothered that nameberry sent this out in the email on 4/8/2014 since [name_f]Peaches[/name_f] died yesterday. Really tasteless and inappropriate.

This post was originally from last year. People have only started commenting on the post again to give condolences on her passing.

I am the original poster. I reposted to offer my condolences on [name_f]Peaches[/name_f] Geldof’s tragic death. It upset me to hear that a young mother has died and left behind two young boys. There is nothing tasteless or inappropriate about that behaviour.
