[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, I signed up today for some help. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have one daughter called [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. We chose her name pretty quick as we both saw [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] in a baby name book when I was only about 12 weeks along and we fell in love with it straight away. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is after my husband’s mother who passed away a few years before she was born.
Now our second is due to arrive in [name_f]October[/name_f] and we’re pretty stumped! We don’t know the gender so I’ll be asking about this in the girl’s section also. We do find girls names a little easier, but we have a short list of names we like and they are:
[name_m]Stellan[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] - Although we are aware of the Orphan [name_m]Black[/name_m] connection so that puts us off a little.
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezio[/name_m] - Too weird?
[name_m]Sylvan[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Dante[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]
[name_m]Augustin[/name_m]
We’re just having trouble finding boys names that we really love. We do like all of these but we can’t commit to any of them as we end up having second thoughts about them all.
So we’d love to hear any suggestions that you all have for [name_f]Cosima[/name_f]'s possible brother!
Great list (except for [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]…I’m just not a fan)! Perhaps [name_u]Alexios[/name_u] (nn Xios), [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] ([name_m]Enzo[/name_m]), [name_m]Caius[/name_m], [name_m]Cesare[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], Eudo (an ancient Norse name).
From your list and with [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], I really love [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] (but I’m partial to any name that can be nicknamed [name_u]Gus[/name_u]!). [name_m]Ezio[/name_m] feels a little over the top for my taste, but [name_m]Elio[/name_m] would be great (or my Italian grandpa’s name, Elenio?Beautiful and totally underused!). What about [name_m]Marius[/name_m] ? [name_m]Mathias[/name_m]? [name_m]Fergus[/name_m]?
And I really like the suggestion of [name_m]Julian[/name_m] with [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] ([name_m]Fabian[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] would sound nice too, mind you).
Congratulations on your pregnancy !
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beyond gorgeous! If I had a [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], I think I would name her brother [name_m]Fabian[/name_m]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names are quite exotic, but not unheard-of, easy to spell and pronounce, work well in many different cultures and I think they sound dashing together! Suggestions of [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] are awesome, too.
From your list, my favorite is [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (it’s my favorite boy name in general). It might be less exotic than [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], but I think they still go well together. Like [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] has great meaning (“happy”, “fortunate”), which I think is one of its biggest pros. I wouldn’t worry about the Orphan [name_m]Black[/name_m] reference, it’s a great show, but it isn’t very popular so I doubt most people would make the connection.
I also like [name_m]Stellan[/name_m], [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] (although prefer it spelled [name_m]Augusten[/name_m] or [name_m]Augustine[/name_m]).
I like:
[name_m]Marius[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m]
[name_m]Fabian[/name_m]
[name_m]Bruno[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]
[name_m]Inigo[/name_m]
[name_m]Leopold[/name_m]
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]
It’s funny that you both mentioned [name_m]Fabian[/name_m] because I really love it! I had a crush on it last pregnancy but we then found out we were having a girl so I kind of forgot about it. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband wasn’t sure about it but I’ll mention it again as he isn’t keen on a lot of names the first time around then decides later on that he does, so he might warm up to it!
