We are 6 months along with #2, a baby boy! Originally we were planning on [name_m]Killian[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] ([name_m]Grant[/name_m] is a family name), but now I’m not so sure (due to nicknames) and CANNOT settle on another name. Other names we actually agree on are [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]. I’d like to stay away from TOO popular, and our DD is [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I also [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] but a good friend has used it.
ANY thoughts out there? Other middle / family names: [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], Ragan, [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] (for middle names). Last name is W___ers. Open to completely new options!
I really like [name_m]Killian[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. Are you shying away from it because you don’t want it to get shortened? Or because you don’t like any of the nicknames? (I personally like the nn [name_m]Ian[/name_m])
From the names you listed, I like [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] of [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]. However, I think [name_m]Grant[/name_m] would be a great first name to go with [name_f]Elle[/name_f]! [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] are both great combos.
I know [name_m]Killian[/name_m] is a traditional Gaelic name but confess the “Kill” is off-putting for me. I imagine him learning to spell and thinking hmm, my name has “kill” in it. Maybe I’m overthinking it! Anyway I thought what about the alternate spelling, [name_m]Kilian[/name_m]? You could still have nicknames of [name_u]Lian[/name_u], [name_f]Ki[/name_f] (kye), [name_f]Kiki[/name_f], etc., w/o the murderous first syllable lol.

[name_m]Killian[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is so nice! I like the spelling [name_m]Cillian[/name_m] too. If you both love it, I wouldn’t abandon it too quickly — as @~invisiblestudent pointed out, [name_m]Ian[/name_m] is an accessible nickname, and even Kili doesn’t sound so bad. If you’re worried about the “kill” factor, perhaps consider the C spelling, or consider that just about every name can be turned into something bad, weird, gross…

This is all so helpful! I definitely have some alternatives to think about and I think the turn off is the nickname potential for “kill” but I do think the alternatives are possibilities. And [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is actually quite creative. I’m going to play around with these new options and let you all know what we end up with!
