[name]Dylan[/name]
[name]Rafi[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Heath[/name]
[name]Remy[/name]
[name]Zack[/name]/ [name]Zachary[/name] / [name]Zachariah[/name]

[name]Oren[/name] is the favourite at the moment, any mn suggestions?

Would love to hear new ideas too

Congratulations!

I’m assuming from [name]Oren[/name] and [name]Rafi[/name] that your family might be Jewish? Big brother [name]Finn[/name]'s name is very Celtic to me; are you looking to balance one Hebrew name with one non-Hebrew name?

[name]Oren[/name]-- This is a very pleasant modern Hebrew name, easy for English speaker’s to pronounce. The only real association in the US at least is [name]Oren[/name]'s [name]Daily[/name] Roast, a coffee shop chain. But that’s not that bad. I think brothers [name]Oren[/name] and [name]Finn[/name] would work very well together, as [name]Oren[/name] is quite close to [name]Owen[/name], a similarly trim Celtic name.

[name]Rafe[/name]-- prefer the full name [name]Raphael[/name], nicknamed [name]Rafe[/name]. It’s more formal and gives him more flexibility as he goes through life.

[name]Milo[/name]-- brothers [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Finn[/name] again match very well without seeming like a boxed set. [name]Milo[/name] is a gently masculine name in the same vein as [name]Finn[/name].

[name]Dylan[/name]-- [name]Dylan[/name] is Welsh and therefore pairs somewhat well with Irish [name]Finn[/name]. However, this name is both dated to the early 90s, and unisex nowadays. I think [name]Oren[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] are better bets.

[name]Rafi[/name]-- again, prefer [name]Raphael[/name], nicknamed [name]Rafi[/name] (and every Israeli [name]Raphael[/name] I’ve known has gone by [name]Rafi[/name]).

[name]Theodore[/name]-- brothers [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Theo[/name] are again an excellent match. I think I slightly prefer [name]Milo[/name], as it’s a self-contained full name just like [name]Finn[/name], whereas [name]Theodore[/name] would have to be shortened.

[name]Heath[/name]-- Scottish moors, a candy bar, or a drugged-out Australian actor? Hard to know which association dominates.

[name]Remy[/name]-- love this suggestion, as it’s quite unexpected. It’s gaining traction and is no longer so unfamiliar, but I do think it’s not the best style match for [name]Finn[/name], as it seems more lush and less crisp.

[name]Zack[/name]/ [name]Zachary[/name] / [name]Zachariah[/name]-- these names are perfectly fine, but also dated somewhat to the 90s. Prefer [name]Oren[/name] or [name]Milo[/name].

MN for [name]Oren[/name] or [name]Milo[/name]: Should be 3 syllables to balance the 1+4 syllable combo of [name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name].

[name]Milo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Broderick[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Evander[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Ephraim[/name]
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Everett[/name] ** fave
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Julius[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Raphael[/name] ** fave
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Maximus[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] [name]Tobias[/name]
[name]Oren[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]

I really like [name]Milo[/name] with [name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. I think something like [name]Milo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]Raphael[/name] would be great!

Most of these would be just fine.

[name]Oren[/name] when pronounced, is sort of associated with a certain senator from [name]Utah[/name]. I also agree that [name]Rafi[/name]/[name]Rafe[/name] are really nicknames, so I think it would be best to go with [name]Rafael[/name]/[name]Raphael[/name]. The British pronounce the name [name]Ralph[/name] as [name]Rafe[/name] and use it as a stand-alone name, but you wouldn’t be able to get people to use that pronunciation here in the US.

[name]Milo[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] is my favorite combination to go with [name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name].

[name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] and brother…

1 [name]Milo[/name] - this name has the same energy as [name]Finn[/name].
2 [name]Heath[/name] - [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Heath[/name] would be wonderful for siblings. They both have a Celtic vibe.
3 [name]Theodore[/name] -I love this name although the spunky [name]Theo[/name] may be better with [name]Finn[/name].

[name]Orrin[/name] Hatch is a conservative Republican Senator in the US so that’s my first assocation. I also think [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Oren[/name] are matchy in sound.

[name]Finn[/name] & [name]Milo[/name] stands out to me, love both of them but would prefer [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Miles[/name] ‘[name]Milo[/name]’.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Finn[/name] & [name]Jude[/name]?

[name]Finn[/name] & [name]Zachary[/name] would get my second vote behind [name]Milo[/name].

[name]Oren[/name]: This name never appealed to me. It seems like a bit of a mouthful if you repeat it often.
[name]Rafe[/name]: Not my cup of tea.
[name]Milo[/name]: [name]Love[/name] this name. Also loves [name]Miles[/name]
[name]Dylan[/name]: Not my favorite, but it is a good name.
[name]Rafi[/name]: Not sure how I feel. I think I like it.
[name]Theodore[/name]: Good name
[name]Heath[/name]: [name]Love[/name] it, sounds great with [name]Finn[/name]
[name]Remy[/name]: I prefer this to [name]Rafi[/name] and [name]Rafe[/name]
[name]Zack[/name]/ [name]Zachary[/name] / [name]Zachariah[/name]: Never cared for it.

[name]Heath[/name] is one of my very fav boys names! Perfect with [name]Finn[/name].

I love [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Milo[/name]! I think [name]Milo[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] would be great!

Thanks so much for the replies, lots of ideas to ponder there.

I should have mentioned in my original post that we live in Australia, with a predominantly British heritage with some Irish, French, Scottish and Italian trhown in. So [name]Blade[/name], no not Jewish although I can see how you might have assumed that given our list…DP also loves [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Seth[/name] but they’re not high on the list for me.

I originally wanted to stick with the Irish theme, at the moment my favourite girls name is [name]Maeve[/name] and we would use it if we were to have a girl in the future. But I wasn’t totally satisfied with the short list and decided to cast a wider net!

I forgot [name]Leif[/name] of the list, another favourite…we would pronounce it [name]Leaf[/name] (as it generally is pronounced here), though i understand the Scandi pronounciation is Layf.

So…the [name]Heath[/name] association here would largely be the Australian actor. I actually this he was fabulous, although the choice wouldn’t relate to him in any way.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Milo[/name] as a name, the drawback is here the chocolate malt drink [name]Milo[/name] is almost like a cultural icon. DP doesn’t like [name]Miles[/name].

We don’t have the problem so much with the Republican Senator, although that may turn DP off once he realises as he is a big follower of US politics

[name]Blade[/name] I love your mn suggestions, several of them are on our long list, including [name]Evander[/name].

All the suggestions are great, can’t wait to chew on them with DP

 [name]Ella[/name]

[name]Glad[/name] to help. Other first name thoughts (similarly Celtic/British, snappy, and pair well with the longer mns I put out in my previous post as well as big brother [name]Finn[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]):

[name]Keane[/name]
[name]Colm[/name]
[name]Reeve[/name]
[name]Conn[/name]
[name]Eoin[/name]
[name]Niall[/name]
[name]Oran[/name] (the original Irish to replace the Hebrew [name]Oren[/name])
[name]Shane[/name]
[name]Teague[/name]
Aulay
[name]Ian[/name]
[name]Keir[/name]
[name]Muir[/name]
[name]Ross[/name]

And similar to [name]Milo[/name], but not a beverage:

[name]Aldo[/name]
[name]Benno[/name]
[name]Enzo[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Ivo[/name]
[name]Marco[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Nico[/name]
[name]Paolo[/name]
