I could use some opinions please : ) My husband and I are having a hard time with names. Our daughter is [name]Isla[/name] [name]Angeline[/name]. I would prefer to stay with something classic or Irish/Scottish. I would also prefer to stick with something not so popular at the moment, but not too obscure, ([name]Isla[/name] wasn’t very popular yet when we picked it but due to [name]Isla[/name] [name]Fischer[/name]'s success my husband agreed on it).
Here’s what we have at the moment:
[name]Ewan[/name] (my favorite, I think)
[name]Ethan[/name] (my husband’s favorite, I think it’s OK)
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Quinlan[/name] ([name]Quinn[/name])
The middle name will either be [name]Edward[/name] or [name]Allan[/name], based on family names. I’d love to hear other suggestions as well. Some favorites of mine that DH veto’d are [name]Henry[/name], [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Emmett[/name]. My not-so-favorite picks of my husbands are [name]Colton[/name], [name]Ryder[/name], [name]Dylan[/name] (Can you see why we’re having a hard time?!) haha. Thanks in advance : )
None of your names at the moment really stand out to be, it’s a shame [name]Henry[/name] is out as I really love that. I had to look up the pronunciation on [name]Ewan[/name]. That might throw some people off–but my guess is that people mispronounce [name]Isla[/name]'s name, too? Going by the middle names you’ve chosen, I’d say [name]Quinlan[/name] [name]Edward[/name] would me my top pick. HTH!
I prefer [name]Ewan[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] to [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Quinlan[/name]. [name]Quinn[/name] is becoming very popular for girls and [name]Quinlan[/name] is a bit too out there for me. I am only familiar with [name]Everett[/name] as a surname (though I keep seeing it mentioned in these forums). I had no problem with the pronunciation of [name]Ewan[/name] (because of the actor) and I don’t think you could go wrong with [name]Evan[/name].
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will need to work on my husband a little bit I think. [name]Ewan[/name] [name]Edward[/name] is my favorite, followed by [name]Quinlan[/name] so we’ll see.
I love many of the names that everyone has thrown on the table but unfortunately my husband isn’t as adventurous as I am. But my name was never common so maybe that’s why I’m not worried about it? I really enjoy [name]Rowan[/name] (there’s one at daycare with my daughter). I love [name]Finn[/name] too but that’s my nephew so I can’t use it. And our last name starts with an M, so some of the names ending with M that were suggested may run together too much.
