Hi! We are due in 4 weeks! With what is likely another boy
We love our sons’ names; they ended up all being biblical names - but we didn’t really intentionally set a biblical theme… so would prefer a non-Biblical name this time unless it’s really amazing (so… no Micah, Levi, etc)
I am LOVING the name Wells. Husband isn’t sold on it. I am a bit unsure about having 3/4 names one syllable. But I also feel like sibling name flow isn’t as important to me as a great name for that child.
I also am not 100% on the “s” ending… it is pretty common among names (I know a Titus, a Miles, etc), so it must be something you get used to… Feedback on Wells?
Do you have any thoughtful suggestions we might not have thought of? We are struggling! (Also need a girl name! But that’s a different topic)
Middle name ideas are also welcomed. Our current ones are Seth Robert (family middle name), Asher Drew & Jude Oliver.
[name_u]Wesley[/name_u] could fill in for [name_m]Wells[/name_m] if you’re not sold on it, and I think it fits in really nice with the brothers’ names. I like how it’s not Biblical, but kind of Christian-adjacent thanks to [name_u]John[/name_u] [name_u]Wesley[/name_u]. (The suggestion of [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] hits a similar note!) I could also totally see [name_m]Wells[/name_m] working as a nickname for [name_u]Wesley[/name_u].
[name_m]Wells[/name_m] is cool! I don’t think it feels common since it’s an unusual name itself, but obviously it would depend on the associations you have (I don’t hear -s names a lot)
Many (possibly most) people would not know that [name_u]Seth[/name_u], [name_u]Asher[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are biblical - all are great names and used widely by non-religious people. You rule out a lot of good names that would fit well with the siblings if you exclude biblical names. People who use [name_u]Levi[/name_u] where I live would most likely be surprised it’s in the bible. [name_m]Wells[/name_m] is ok, [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] or [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] better - sorry
[name_m]Wells[/name_m] is a nice name. It just feels like a sudden departure from a name style, and makes his name stand out from his brothers’. If that doesn’t bother you, go for it.
I like [name_m]Wells[/name_m], and it definitely fits with current trends (Miles, [name_u]Brooks[/name_u], [name_u]Hayes[/name_u] etc.). [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] and [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] are great suggestions to get [name_m]Wells[/name_m], too!
I think it’s fine to have 3/4 names as one syllable as I wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it!
I see someone suggested this as well but you could use [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] and then use the nickname “Wells” that way you don’t have the “s” ending and have 2 one syllable and 2 two syllable names
Firstly I love [name_m]Wells[/name_m] the name feels distinguished, bookish, sleek with an overall dark academia feel. However I feel like [name_u]Seth[/name_u], [name_u]Asher[/name_u] & [name_u]Jude[/name_u] have an outdoorsy southern almost cowboy feel so I would embrace that vibe for kiddo #4
As much as I like [name_m]Wells[/name_m], it seems like a modern name compared to your other children’s names. I know you want something “different” or not heard too often.
I love the way you boys names are “soft” sounding, short vowel sounds. suppose. I can imagine the name [name_m]Eben[/name_m] with the others. I love the name [name_m]Eben[/name_m] and think it is SO cool. Short for Ebeneazer, I do not believe the name is in the Bible.
Thanks for this! I [name_m]Feel[/name_m] like it fits the vibe somehow too, even though it is a much less common name. I like [name_m]Felix[/name_m] from your list, but just can’t quite love it. Also like Ronan…
[name_u]Milo[/name_u] is cute but a friend has one.
Hmm, it’s a neat name! But somehow not drawing me in… thanks for suggesting! I know what you mean about [name_m]Wells[/name_m] being more modern. Hmmmmmm
