I love the name [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. I never watched [name_m]Alvin[/name_m] and the chipmunks, so their names carry no significance to me. What would you think if [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]'s new brother were named [name_m]Simon[/name_m]? [name_m]How[/name_m] many of you would even make the connection, and am I crazy for considering it? I never expected the comments about my sons name, and I don’t want to set my boys up for ridicule. What do you think?
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] is a great name I wouldn’t have automatically thought of [name_m]Alvin[/name_m] and the Chipmunks unless someone mentioned it.
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] sound like lovely classic and unique names and you should go with [name_m]Simon[/name_m] if you have your heart set on it.
If you decide to chose something else though here are some other S names: [name_u]Seth[/name_u], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Samson[/name_m], [name_m]Stephen[/name_m], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], & [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]
It may have occurred to me but it definitely wouldn’t have been the first thing to come to mind. You might get occasional comments, but it wont be all the time and I doubt they’d be ridiculed for it. I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] are nice together and that you should go for it.
I think that as long as you don’t use [name_m]Alvin[/name_m], you’re good. I wouldn’t have immediately thought of it unless you mentioned it. It may have crossed my mind after some thought, but it’s not an immediate association. I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] are great together, don’t sweat it
Honestly, it would have come to mind for me and I would probably chuckle in my head, but they are both fine classic names so I wouldn’t say anything about it unless you asked me directly about their names.
I have kids, so it would be my first thought.
I do think of the chipmunks but I don’t think it’s a deal breaker.
