We are expecting our second and I couldn’t wait to get feedback from my fellow Nameberry-ites. You were tremendous in helping my hubby and I choose the name for our son, [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name].
We will not be finding out the gender, but if we are to have a boy, my husband is quite set on [name]James[/name]. I’m not convinced that [name]James[/name] needs to be used as a first name. There are a LOT of [name]Jamies[/name] and Jims in the family already. If we are to use [name]James[/name], we will not abbreviate.
What about a middle name? We’ve tossed around [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Eliot[/name], but were hoping for some inspiration from you!
Thanks, and I look forward to your input!
(For a girl, we are quite happy with [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], but are open to your inspired suggestions!)
[name]James[/name] is handsom and like you I do prefer just [name]James[/name] not nickname but I find a nickname will be inevitable as he gets into his teenage years, and that will solely be his choice. However, I’m all for the want of trying to avoid a nickname for [name]James[/name].
[name]James[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] fits very nicely with [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name].
I love [name]James[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]James[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] (that spelling)
Suggestions:
[name]James[/name] [name]Elijah[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Rafferty[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Alastair[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Louis[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Lloyd[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Edward[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Timothy[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Lucas[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Ferdinand[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Anthony[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Frederick[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Philip[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Eli[/name]
And since [name]James[/name] goes very well as a middle names for all those names I listed above, if you don’t want [name]James[/name] to be the first, just change the order, and you have new combos.
OK, before I read your post based on the title my first thought was “similar names to what I like. [name]Alexander[/name] would be perfect!”
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name] [name]James[/name] (TJ, [name]Tom[/name], [name]Tommy[/name])
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Elliott[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Elliott[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] [name]James[/name]
IMHO [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Thomas[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] are matches made in heaven with [name]William[/name].
[name]James[/name] is a nice, but seems less sparky than [name]William[/name] to me.
[name]Nicolas[/name] could work too, but is NMS.
I like [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] the best! [name]Joseph[/name] just popped into my head, it’s sort of like [name]James[/name] I suppose.
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]James[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]James[/name] [name]Tobias[/name]

[name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]James[/name] [name]Ezra[/name]
My uncle was [name]James[/name] [name]Rolla[/name] named after my great grandfather and I love that combo. Personally I love the name [name]James[/name].
Some great classic combos to go with [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] (btw love that!)
[name]James[/name] [name]Robert[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Patrick[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Frederick[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Douglas[/name]
[name]James[/name] [name]Edward[/name]
These would all sound great reversed with [name]James[/name] as the mn too.
Other possible combos with [name]James[/name] as the middle name are
[name]Adam[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Edgar[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]James[/name]
If you want to go Literary you could do [name]James[/name] [name]Joyce[/name] or [name]James[/name] Fenimore.
Processing all of this! [name]Haven[/name]'t been back in weeks. A huge thank you to everyone who responded with such inspiring suggestions. My head is spinning. [name]Will[/name] keep you posted.
