A Challenge from My Husband--Nature Names that are Biblical/Christian

[name_u]Eden[/name_u] is definitely a nature name. I have heard it used for both boys and girls, so I’m not sure if you like gender neutral names or ones that are distinctly masculine/feminine.

[name_f]Olive[/name_f]/[name_f]Olivet[/name_f] also works. Personally, I think you have other nicer options ;). But, it’s a nice option still and I think it sounds nothing like “all of it.”

[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is associate with the sea and big fish…but it’s not a name I would personally consider to be nature related.

[name_u]Cedar[/name_u] is out there! I could see it working in the right sib-set. Otherwise it would really stand out, I think.

Another suggestion… Basil (m) or Basilea (f) is a name I have heard used - inspired from the Greek word (basileia) for the Kingdom of God used in the New Testament.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! This is actually right up my alley! There are so many great suggestions that I hadnt thought of yet- so my list is more common.

My kids names have alot of this going on for them.
[name_f]Tess[/name_f] actually means Harvester. Which she associates the parable of the seeds and the verse about the harvest being ready and praying for the harvest, to be “her” name verses in the Bible.

Her middle name is [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]- which means Who is Like God

[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] has lots of different meanings, but 2 common ones are “pure” and “earth” which would also fit that category.

Her middle is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] which means [name_f]Happy[/name_f]
And her second middle is [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (I still really adore this name)

[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]- this has already been suggested, but I cant recommend it enough. It fits in well with common or uncommon names. It’s recognizable without being over done. He was named for the gemstone reference of heaven in Revelation.

His middle is [name_m]Silas[/name_m]- which means forest. My husband is a hunter. And I love the story of [name_m]Paul[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] in jail. So this one fits too.

[name_u]Jude[/name_u]- means praise. Not really naturey. But I’d still recommend it.

His middle is [name_u]River[/name_u]- This will sound dumb so most, but during his preg, I couldnt think of a middle. [name_f]Every[/name_f] time, I felt God was saying [name_u]River[/name_u]. But I never considered [name_u]River[/name_u] in all of my life. It wasnt until the last week that I gave it some thought and gave in. I know God named him [name_u]River[/name_u] after [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] is the [name_u]River[/name_u] of Life flowing through heaven, and the strong symbolism of water in the Bible, and also water was my life saver in that preg. Once I named him [name_u]River[/name_u], I fell in love with it, and I hope it gets more use. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this one.

Here are some names on our list for this baby #5.

Girls:
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]- just like you. It really is a classic Bible name, but in a good way.
[name_u]Zion[/name_u]- I know this is a boy name, but I cant see it being anything but girl because [name_m]Israel[/name_m] and Jerusalem are all feminine reference in the Bible.
Lark- “happy as a Lark” this bird has the reputation for being joyful and is the only bird that is able to sing while flying. I LOVE birds. To me they represent the freedom we have in Christ.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]- this is our #1 contender. To me, [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is more about the “[name_m]Roar[/name_m]” than anything else. Haha. It brings to mind the [name_m]Lion[/name_m] of [name_m]Judah[/name_m]. And Courage and boldness. Which we desparately need during these times.
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]- means loved/loveable, it also is connected to the emerald. So again, this fits both criteria.
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]- another that fits into both criteria. Meaning [name_f]Wisdom[/name_f], but is also a great herb even mentioned in the Bible.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]- such a strong [name_m]Christian[/name_m] reference, and a beautiful flower and a great sound, no wonder this a favorite. It still excites me even if its mega popular.
[name_f]Fern[/name_f]- an edible plant that means flourishing and fertility. Also has a hipster vibe. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this one.
[name_u]Dove[/name_u]- a peaceful bird, a reference to the Holy [name_f]Spirit[/name_f], rhymes with [name_u]Love[/name_u]. Sure to turn heads and hearts.
Wren- this is my nickname. I get so many compliments on it. Sometimes I wish I could use it for one of my girls. I hope it gets more use. To me Wren signifies a small common bird, insignificent, but it makes alot of noise, very bold (for Christ). Fits me great.

Boys:
We do J names, so I mught not be super helpful here.
[name_m]Jethro[/name_m] nn “[name_m]Jett[/name_m]”- [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] means excellence or abundance and [name_m]Jett[/name_m] has the mineral and aviation reference.
[name_m]Jonas[/name_m]- means dove, and ocean vibe.
[name_m]Judson[/name_m]- after the missionary Adoniram [name_m]Judson[/name_m]. Not sure if this fits, but eh, traveling the world is kinda earthy. Lol.
[name_m]Justus[/name_m]- not naturey, more virtue.
[name_m]Job[/name_m]- might be a bold choice, but he was righteous, and you cant get more “down to earth” than the subject of human suffering.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps at least sort out some choices. Message me if you want to.
Congrats on baby #6

[name_f]Tamar[/name_f] is Biblical and means palm tree! That’s all I really have to add that hasn’t been mentioned, though.
