Well, Berries, what do you think of the name Snowy?
I don’t think it would serve her well in life. Adjectives rarely work as English names.
I don’t think it would grow well with a little girl, or boy for that matter. [name]Snow[/name] can work, but I’d still pair it with something more classic. Snowy sounds too juvenile to be a given name.
Fine. For a dog or cat.
I like [name]Snow[/name] much better. She’d just get teased with Snowy, snowy owl etc…
cute nickname maybe, but way too insubstantial by itself.
I agree that it sounds like a nickname. I would not put it on the birth certificate, personally.
I prefer just [name]Snow[/name].
Very much makes me think of a white cat or dog.
I don’t see the appeal of [name]Snow[/name] or Snowy. [name]Both[/name] make me think of a derogatory name for a white girl. Also yhey make me think of some kind of slang for cocaine. Also when I think of actual snow I think of something pure & beautiful & likable for only a short time…miserable & cold & trampled in a few hours time. Not the sort of vibe I would want connected to my kid. Also if she were fat, she would be round like a snow man. If she were icy & remote it would be just too much. If she were very pale (and not in a lovely [name]Snow[/name] White way) it would be unfortunate
I know of a Snowy, actually. It seems to suit her well but it’s caused her teasing.
Agree with a PP who suggested [name]Snow[/name]. Snowy sounds like a name of a pet. If you like winter/snow themed names, what about:
Solstice
Icelyn
[name]Frost[/name]
[name]Aster[/name]
[name]Blaze[/name]
I don’t like it. Adjectives don’t make good names.
I came across a Snowy in a cemetery once. She died as a young child. I don’t think Snowy would work very well past age eight.
Snowy isn’t a name, it’s an adjective. I like [name]Snow[/name] as a middle name, but definitely not Snowy.
People are giving you the right advice - stay away from Snowy - your daughter will thank you later in life
Go with [name]Eira[/name].
I think it’s a bad idea, I think [name]Snow[/name] in general is a bad idea… maybe as a middle or a nickname, but not as a name on its own…
Oh! Or Eirlys! means “snowdrop”, how cute.
Maybe as a nickname for a girl named [name]Winter[/name], but other than that, no. Unless you’re naming a pet.
Sounds like another one of [name]Santa[/name]'s reindeer, if I’m honest. Definitely not a persons name.
