What do you think about [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Isabella[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name]?
Nicknames would probably [name]Cate[/name]/[name]Catie[/name], [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Bella[/name] or [name]Charlie[/name].
Thoughts? Suggestions?
They’re all beautiful names. My favourite is [name]Margaret[/name], because I have an intense love affair with [name]Maggie[/name].
Sorry, I got trigger happy and didn’t provide any suggestions.
[name]How[/name] do you feel about:
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
I like all of those. Probably [name]Catherine[/name] is my favorite, but they are all nice.
[name]Margaret[/name] is a favorite of mine, too, and [name]Maggie[/name] is adorable. Lots of other nickname possibilities, excellent in its full form.
[name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] don’t seem as overused these days as [name]Isabella[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name].
I think [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], and [name]Charlotte[/name] are perfect. [name]Isabella[/name] is beautiful, but as a top-10 name, its substance is currently overshadowed. I would recommend one of the other three; classic names, common enough that they aren’t going to go out of style, but not top-10 right now (although [name]Charlotte[/name] is close, and climbing). My personal favourite is [name]Catherine[/name], but [name]Margaret[/name] is a bit more rare (which makes it somehow seem as though it has even more substance).
I must admit, I’m not fond of any of the nicknames, but I think they’re just fine. I’m not really a fan of parents decided to call their child by a name other than the one on their birth certificate exclusively, but as a term of endearment or another option for a child to choose from, I think they’re wonderful.
All of your names are beautiful! I’m biased, but [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name](favorite spelling of that name) are my favorites.
I love them! They sound like they came straight out of a [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] novel. Which makes me love them even more. [name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] are my favorite, as [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] are on my own list, but I also really love [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Maggie[/name] (also really love [name]Greta[/name] as a nn for [name]Margaret[/name]!) and [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Cate[/name]. [name]Isabella[/name] is my ultimate favorite, of course.
My favourite of the four is [name]Catherine[/name] (I personally prefer the K spelling but that’s just a technicality). I also like [name]Isabella[/name] a lot but it’s really popular right now, so it probably would be viewed as trendy as opposed to classic. I also love the suggestion of [name]Georgia[/name].
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name]
I like [name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name], but I’m not a fan of the “C” spelling for [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Cate[/name].
Other classic names I like:
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it. A lot. This spelling is probably my favourite, followed by the unpopular but Hepburn-esque [name]Katharine[/name] (with two a’s, if you please). But, monkeywrench, I don’t especially care for [name]Cate[/name]/[name]Catie[/name]. I think [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Katie[/name] would get spelled right more often, but in any case find [name]Cat[/name] more interesting and distinctive, while still traditional, even [name]Shakespeare[/name]-approved.
[name]Margaret[/name] - Like okay, wouldn’t use it but has an unmistakable class. [name]Maggie[/name] is okay. I somewhat prefer [name]Mae[/name]. Or [name]Daisy[/name], if you want to be obscure. I would be more likely, personally, to use [name]Magnolia[/name] or [name]Magdalena[/name] if I really wanted a [name]Maggie[/name], but [name]Margaret[/name] is of the ages and not a bad choice.
[name]Isabella[/name] - I prefer [name]Isabel[/name]. And I really don’t like [name]Isabella[/name] called [name]Bella[/name]. I’d call her [name]Izzy[/name] or [name]Ibby[/name]. [name]Isabel[/name] reads stronger to me than the frillier [name]Isabella[/name], and is also far less popular.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - Prefer [name]Caroline[/name]. My mom says [name]Caroline[/name] is “too rich for our blood” but I think it’s accessible and charming without being common. [name]Caroline[/name] called [name]Callie[/name] would be adorable.
[name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] are far less common than [name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], which helps them I think.
My favorite is [name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]. [name]Catherine[/name] would get my second vote (I prefer [name]Katherine[/name] though) with [name]Isabella[/name] coming in third (I prefer [name]Isabel[/name]/le). [name]Margaret[/name] is just nms…and my Aunt had a dog named [name]Maggie[/name] whcih is all I associate with the name.
From the 4, which are all lovely, my favourite is [name]Margaret[/name], because I just can’t resist [name]Maggie[/name]. Followed by [name]Catherine[/name] (I think the C spelling is refreshing), then [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name].
Out of your list I think [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] are the best. I love the nn you chose for them. I especially like [name]Charlie[/name] as a nn for [name]Charlotte[/name]. Can’t go wrong with either.
I like [name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]
Suggestion:
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] get my vote.
Other classic names to consider:
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Cate[/name] is my favorite from that list (and the ‘C’ variation is so fresh and lovely).
If you need more suggestions, [name]Josephine[/name]/[name]Josie[/name] is another classic name with substance.
[name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] are my two favorites!
I love [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], and [name]Isabel[/name]. I don’t like [name]Margaret[/name] at all, and [name]Isabella[/name] has negative thoughts attached for me.
I also like [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Elisabeth[/name], [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Juliet[/name].
I like the names in this order:
#1 [name]Catherine[/name] nn [name]Cate[/name]/[name]Catie[/name]
#2 [name]Margaret[/name], nn [name]Maggie[/name]
#3 [name]Charlotte[/name], nn [name]Charlie[/name] (With nn [name]Lottie[/name], I would have ranked [name]Charlotte[/name] in first place.)
#4 [name]Isabella[/name], nn [name]Bella[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] is a stately, elegant classic. [name]Margaret[/name] is a name that I have warmed up to a lot in the last couple of years. I now recognize its distinctive beauty. [name]Charlotte[/name] is simply gorgeous. I like [name]Isabella[/name], but prefer [name]Isabelle[/name].
