A couple of last questions!

[name]Hi[/name], Berries!

So we are now officially ttc #2! Our son is [name]Lorcan[/name]. After much help on this site, we have decided that if number 2 is a boy, he will be [name]Findlay[/name] (definitely that spelling) and a girl will be [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Greer[/name]. My main question is, as my hypothetical sibset is hopefully about to become a little less hypothetical, which girl name do we pick? [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Greer[/name]? We love both and hope to eventually have both, but in the event of our next baby being a girl, we need to assume it may be our only girl and pick one or the other! So, ultimately, which goes best with [name]Lorcan[/name]: [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Greer[/name]? My other question is spelling: [name]Greer[/name] or [name]Grier[/name]? Thanks is advance,

Kath xx

Personally I think I like [name]Greer[/name] better with [name]Lorcan[/name] and [name]Findlay[/name]. But my decision could be colored by a snotty character in a book I read who was named [name]Elspeth[/name].

Definitely [name]Grier[/name]! It goes so nicely with [name]Lorcan[/name] and [name]Findlay[/name]! (should you have 3 children.)

I like [name]Greer[/name].

Also, I like the spelling of [name]Greer[/name] better then [name]Grier[/name], but I prefer more traditional spellings.

I prefer [name]Greer[/name] with [name]Lorcan[/name]. [name]Lorcan[/name], [name]Greer[/name], and [name]Findlay[/name] would make a lovely sibset.

Is it just me or is [name]Elspeth[/name] a little hard to say? It has always sounded akward to me.

I’m obviously in the minority, but I prefer [name]Elspeth[/name] personally!

Good luck!

I’m a [name]Greer[/name] fan! I like either spelling, and it fits so well with [name]Lorcan[/name].

I agree that [name]Elspeth[/name] is a little hard to say. At least when I say it, it sounds like I’m trying to get the name “[name]Elizabeth[/name]” out as quickly as possible.

I agree! [name]Elspeth[/name] feels much softer and feminine to me than [name]Greer[/name]/[name]Grier[/name].

Kath,

Well, I disagree with the majority, here, I think!

If your future baby turns out to be a girl, and you might only have one girl, I’d use [name]Elspeth[/name]! Why? Because both [name]Lorcan[/name] and [name]Findlay[/name] have two syllables, like [name]Elspeth[/name], and [name]Greer[/name] has just one - at least how I say it, it does.

I see how the hard sounds of [name]Greer[/name] may play nicely with [name]Lorcan[/name], but I love the softness of [name]Elspeth[/name] next to [name]Lorcan[/name] and [name]Findlay[/name]!

Either name would be beautiful. Go with your heart. And, good luck!

I would use [name]Grier[/name] for sure! I know someone named [name]Elspeth[/name] and she quite often gets frustrated because when she is introducing herself many people think she is saying '"[name]Elle[/name] [name]Smith[/name]"!

[name]Hope[/name] this helps!
